The magnitude and duration of the westerly flow on Long Island was unprecedented in 2010. While earlier years had some, it was nothing compared to 2010. This was the only time that a station on Long Island had 50 days reaching 90°.

nice, that was my dream summer.  It's too bad that station wasn't around for 2011 to see if the peak was higher than the 108 it recorded in 2010.

it's interesting that 1993 isn't on this list, I thought it was hotter than 1991.

97 with a dewpoint of 67 here. Hot, but it doesn't feel as bad as I thought it would. Dewpoint of 67 isn't terrible.

dew points in the mid to upper 60s not that bad

2010 was legendary- beginning to end. Fantastic winter finishing up on Feb 26 with the “snowapocalypse” to the early March wind event , to the fantastic early Spring to the classic hot but lower dewpoint summer, to the great finish with Boxing Day. 
 

Plenty if storms in all seasons but plenty of great weather days. One of best years ever.

2010 had the September tornado that literally passed over my house and the microburst which together wiped out a massive amount of huge, old trees in my area. 

The canopy has never been the same, it makes me angry to this day.

My station in Whitestone is usually very close to LGA. I hit 101.1

Over the Newton/Sparta area earlier, we had two distinct cloud formations that were trying to develop something.  I even ran through a brief shower just outside of Newton, heading towards Sparta around 4:45.  Just barley enough for one or two swipes with the windshield wipers.  There was a tiny blip on radar and the only one around for hundreds of miles.

I question it when it’s in direct sun. But when it was in shade it was 96
