OrdIowPitMsp Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM High of 72 with 1.68” of rainfall. Not a single rumble of thunder up here, much different atmosphere in southern Minnesota today.
madwx
2.86” of rain so far this week. Should get another round tonight before the pattern reloads over the weekend
hawkeye_wx
It appears a broken, weakening line of showers and storms this evening will be it for the week. As Cyclone said, this ROF pattern has been lousy. The heat and humidity is there, but the other ingredients are all weak.
Brian D
0.10" of rain yesterday. It was a cool, wet day. Thought we'd picked up more rain than that, but it was light. A little more on tap today.

We’ve been stuck at 63 all day here. Glad to be north of the front. Two days in the 90s was enough for me. Our two day rain total will probably be somewhere around 3” once all is said and done in Minneapolis.

Chicago Storm
I know that I have brought this up a few times over the past couple of years, but it finally looks like it is going to happen... NOAA sent out a TIN/PNS today regarding the decommissioning of the NAM (And other guidance) in favor of the RRFS. This change is currently set to occur in early 2026. 1 2

Has the RRFS been doing pretty well? I honestly haven't been paying enough attention to it as I probably should have lol. Made 93 here, 91 at MLI today. Even with the indices up near 100 it wasn't too bad out there with the solid breeze today.
IWXwx
Monsoonal rain here today too. Picked up a quick 3/4". Now the sun's back out.
SchaumburgStormer
Missed multiple storms over the last few days by 2-3 miles. Listening to thunder while watering the garden is superb… 1

The biggest issue is that everyone looks at the simulated radar reflectivity output from it, which runs very hot, making everything look like a sup ready to produce the next EF-5.
