Mid-60s and overcast. Best tranquil weather. No sweating and no sun in your eyes.

Obviously, the best overall weather is a blizzard in winter and a 90+ mph downburst in summer.

Showers developed early this morning, and getting a nice soaker atm. Flower garden planted yesterday, so this rain is right on time.

Picked up 1.68" rain Wed night into yesterday. The gray, hazy overcast skies only let us get into the mid-60s and you could SMELL campfire smoke in the air. Also had a bit of rain this morning, still hazy.

0.63" of rain last night. Smoky skies today with another round of stms possible. Pretty seasonable June so far. Had one hot day on the 2nd, but other than that, pretty decent. Precip is most welcome. Forecast looks good.

I think that was the best storm we've had all year in Dekalb. Just a nice, seasonably strong afternoon storm that we didn't see at all in April or May.

Was out in the burbs for a bday, lost power at a brewery for a bit, nice garden variety

That cell in the western burbs popped right over me as I was in a game shop. The front windows of the store looked like we were going through a car wash. Literally couldn't see the cars that were parked like 3 feet from the windows.

Picked up 0.02" from some late afternoon post-frontal light rain.  Up to 1.83" for the month now.

There has been a big change on the Euro in the mid to late week period.  The multiple rounds of storms that had been forecast to remain north of my area are now dropping farther south.  Instead of zero rain, 1-2" is possible.

Storms are firing overhead. Just some rain and a rumble of thunder at work. It looks like I missed out on the goods at home. Someone mPing'd pea-sized hail by my house.

I have an unusual hourly setup later tonight - partly sunny at 7pm, then rain by 8, heavy rain of 4mm at 9, then back to mostly cloudy at 10. Like a pop up storm but only TWN has that risk. WUN has 99% chance of rain while TWN is 60%.

Spent much of the day with dews in the 40s.  With the cornfields already at knee high we probably won't be seeing dews this low again until September.

June 2025 is playing out in a similar fashion as June 2024 so far, cool and wet.

I ended up getting my 13th storm of the year, TWN snagged this one with pegged storms but WUN had the amount nearly down to the mm (I got 8mm, basically that was shown) and the 99% which for a squall line makes sense. Infrequent but bright, 'blooming' lightning. My ws didn't detect half of them strikes, I got 75.
