Also the only time that EWR, LGA and JFK all exceeded 100 and NYC did not reach 100 I take it, Don?

Today was the 10th time Newark, LaGuardia, and JFK reached 100 or above. Today was just the second time Central Park did not reach 100 or above on those days. The first such occurrence was July 18, 2013.

That could have been another foliage induced lower reading

Highs:

EWR: 103
JFK: 102
ACY: 102
TEB: 101
ISP: 101
LGA: 101
PHL: 101
BLM: 100 *(no intra hours readings)
New Brnswck: 100
NYC: 99
TTN: 98

Going forward, whether it is later this summer or in future years, whenever a potential heat wave in is the forecast, all the news stories will continue to propagate the misleading statement that "NY City has not reached 100 degrees since 2012."

JFK could have reached 105° if the sea breeze didn’t arrive. The Lefferts/ Ozone Park station just to the north on the other side of the Belt Parkway reached 105°. Another nearby separate Ozone Park station also made it to 105°. Newark and Harrison in NJ both reached 103°. This is the earliest 105° across the area since 7-3-1966. So the first 105° readings in this area during the month of June.

I can't imagine being above 90 as we approach midnight.  It's so crazy looking at Wundermap right now around Manhattan, Brooklyn, etc.  I've never experiened a phenomenon like that.  Textbook example of the UHI.

79 here.

UHI?  Mongo dunno.  I saw THI values up and down the entire east coast over 100 degrees...

I think this will end up being our hottest stretch of the summer. The extended looks warm to borderline hot, but does not look exceptional. I’m fine with that, but honestly I will take anything if it means the back door gunk is done for awhile.

I don't think we'll beat 100-105F readings with 130+ heat indices. Coming stretch looks more what we're used to and quite active.
