cyclone77
DVN has now confirmed 28 tornadoes between last Friday and Tuesday. Pretty nice start to the severe season around these parts.

They have it at about 35 miles in length. They note they are still gathering details about this particular tornado so maybe things will change a bit. RogueWaves
Bushes and smaller trees getting leafs already today, and we've really only had that one hot day at 77F. Kinda surprised tbh

Powerball
On the way back yesterday, still didn't see any signs of life until just north of Dayton. That said, I'd say leaf out is about 95% complete here in Dallas, and they really started to pop out once I got to Nashville.

Yes the grass went instant green this week That’s mostly what I was referring too. Silver maples and the other maples will be the first to pop along with cottonwoods and box elders/elms. The lawn greening and buds on trees expanding was quite impressive to see the past week. This weeks warm weather will get things really going

Chicago Storm
It’s currently 93° in Pierre, SD and 50° in Aberdeen, SD…With a difference of 150 miles between both locations. That’s probably one of the sharper non-frontal boundary gradients you’ll ever see.Check out the significant inversion on the HRRR simulated sounding, from along the SD/ND border this afternoon.

michsnowfreak
Totally random, but when I think how warm it felt today in the 70s, what it must have been like in 1977. April 10th-13th saw highs of 86 87 89 87 at DTW. This stands as the hottest April spell on record and comes on the heels pf a bitter cold winter. 2
