Buckethead
Currently 19.6 with about 4" of snow on my board but it's not accurate due to the wind. I'm staying sustained in the upper 20s with gusts into the mid 40s. Congrats everyone to my south and east!Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
westmc9th
Heavy sleet right now punching holes in the snow. But, right at 11 before it switched here in Brevard
BhamParker
If the 14z HRRR is to be believed then it painted another 4-8+ for all of Transylvania County. Wow

LiQuiDBuD
Heaviest sleet I've ever seen here over the past ten minutes. Literal downpour! I can't wait for this to switch back over to flakes. Please! Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk

calculus1
Still hard to measure because of the wind. I measured anywhere from 7 to 9 inches in the grass out in the open. I’m gonna go with a conservative 7.5 inches, but it might be more. Still snowing steadily, though not as heavily as it was just a bit ago.
mercurydime
My temp/dew has dropped to 22.8/22.6. 7.5" on my back upper deck table. I've not seen any sleet yet. Snow has tapered a bit. Real fine and light here at 10:27a.
BooneWX
Heavy sleet here as well! I really hope the ULL swings through with decent precip.

I think that minus sleet during that time, would have gained over an 1". Also, it was 23.1 at the height of the heavy returns around 8am
BhamParker
What radar station do you guys use for this area on RadarScope? I’m using Greenville Spartanburg, but nothing seems to be really good. The returns have hardly matched what I’m seeing from the sky

The mountains block both and the SW corner of the state may as well be in a radar hole during snow events like this.

There’s not a good radar to properly analyze what is happening over the mountains.

WxKnurd
Went to town, roads were a mess when I first left but the big plow trucks finally got to 209 when I headed back. Russ Ave in Waynesville was a wreck an an 74 wasn’t too hot either. Had heavy snow driving up into the mountains at the house but that must of been the tail end of this opening act as it’s just flurries now. Whiteout conditions due to wind down low around the pastures with no wind break when I first left. 6-7” readings throughout, 6.5” on my deck rail that is serving as my “official” board. Want to make a run at a foot if this backside stays juices and swings through just right but I think 8-10” looks like a strong possibility at least. 27 over 25.5 currently here.

wxduncan
Have changed over to sleet now in Valdese. Went out and did 7 different measurements we got just over 6 inches here in Valdese(Burke County). So I'm happy now we see how much sleet and zr we get. Fun times for sure.
