Central PA - Winter 2020/2021 Part 2

The 12z Euro has an interesting storm evolution for the late week potential. The low is forced to develop to our south and exits off to the east. The High is in a good spot to our North as it builds in while the storm develops to the south. It eventually produces a little snow on the far northwest side of the precip shield.

This storm needs watched to give us a potential solution like the Canadian from last night. If the High builds in a little more quickly, this could be the one that our friend in Williamsport was calling for this month!

Wyoming certainly looks like it will end up as ground zero. Some places already at 20" with a good 12-18 hours to go

They even bumped up the numbers from yesterday.  Absolutely unbelievable.

Was sort of shocked yesterday afternoon on our walk...it was almost dead calm. It's anything but calm out today. Holy cow it's windy.

I know they do not do wind chill for a temp of 50 but it's downright cold to me with these winds.  Wind chills around 0 tonight based on the zone forecast

The lack of a wind advisory yet again another misstep by the NWS (IMO) when it comes to forecasting winds.   Too frequently focusing on non events and not focusing on the real blowers.

It’s ridiculous how windy it’s been. Might as well live on a freaking mountaintop.

Just had repeated 41 mph wind gusts. It’s been windy for 3 solid months wtf

The strong winds this winter have destroyed many lake effect snow chances up here. Everything has been sheared or it's blown waaaay over the normal snow belts to the Adirondacks. Catskills, and....Binghamton.

I meant to put that in my original post. It's seems like the non-advisory events are often much more impressive the the ones that do get an advisory.

At my former apartment residence about 0.25 mi. away from where I now live, I got them to let me keep my Tempest weather station set up in a nearby field with almost no obstructions in all directions.  This afternoon I've recorded multiple gusts into the 40's with a peak gust of 53.8 mph back around 2:45.  Sustained 1-minute averages have frequently been in the 22 to 25mph range.  We love our new townhome that we moved into back in August, but, it has the worst location for a station I've ever had.  My prior location was the best I ever had.  The only direction that is remotely accurate for wind speed is WNW to WSW.  All other directions have either homes or trees blocking. I have an integrated sensor suite so I have to keep it down at 2 meters because temperature is much more important than wind for accurate readings (IMO).
