Light northerly flow around sunset and then the 1-2mph southerly drainage that drops us like a rock. I'd love to live in a geographic area like Pete...a higher elevation glen. I just wish we had some around here near civilization. I love when the wind directions aren't intuitive either. Like a south wind should be a warm wind, but when you have elevation to the south that's your drainage flow. I always remember that from forecasting for ITH. If winds went calm around sunset, you would soon see a light SE drainage flow pick up on the sensor. That's about when your temp could crater 10+ degrees an hour.
