To Will's point, RAP mesoanalysis basically has the 700 mb low developing on top of the islands or nearby.

This band seems to be getting caught up in the developing deformation on the NW side of the mid level low. You can see radar echoes in NH peeling off and moving NW, while in MA they curl to the SW.

Good post and image...you can see it on the regional radar well...the echoes to the SE ripping up the east side of the low and the semi-deformed area in N MA and into S NH

How is anyone going to know how much they actually got with the blowing? I had 3.5 from round 1..But this will be impossible

It'd windier than round 1, but not obscene really..might be worse on the coast. About 3" in the past hour in ORH eyeballing

You can tell that the outcome might have been really good had we developed the mid levels sooner. There just won't be enough time to twist this thing up into a nice stable deformation band.

Yeah, we would have been talking another 18"+ storm if we nuked out a little quicker...but the angle this upper low was coming in at was difficult to do that...but as is, we got enough of a brief pop to give us a healthy warning event for central and eastern SNE which is kind of what I expected.

It's not all that windy yet.  So, take accurate measurements until the winds kick in, and then do your best after that point.   Probably the heaviest will be through before they really crank.

Meanwhile, the cooler air is poised just west of here.
