Going on 44 consecutive hours below 32 degrees unless there was an intra-hr 32 degrees this afternoon.. If there was no intra- hour 32 degrees this afternoon it will be 3 out of the last 4 days with highs below 32. MKE only accomplished that twice all last winter.

59 consecutive hrs was the most for December 2011 and was the only time December had back to back daytime high temps below freezing. Only had 4 days the whole month with daytime highs below 32

Jan had 10 days with highs below 32.

Feb/March combined for 4 days with highs below 32 and none consecutive.

Dec/Feb/March combined for a total of 8 days with highs below 32 lmaosmiley.gif

South Bend is now 6 days from setting the record for the longest period without a measurable snowfall. The last measurable snowfall at South Bend was March 5, 266 days ago. The record is 272 days which was set in 1948. With no snow forecast in the next 7 days, this record could be in jeopardy.

It means I didn't look outside because I think it was virga (at least once it made its way east). No station in SE Wisconsin is/has reported any precip, even flurries.

That band of snow north of me on this side of the lake means business. Just starting to get some flakes. Checkout the webcam just north...

Lol...so the temp started rapidly dropping last evening (after a sunny day) then a solid overcast developed holding temps steady and even rising a few degrees so our low was 24 set at 12am. I really thought we may head for the teens. Then as soon as sunrise came the clouds cleared and its sunny again! Its like mother nature is thinking, oh hell no I can't allow a great radiational cooling night in MI in NOV!

streak of consecutive hrs below 32 degrees ends at 60 hrs and that best any consecutive streak below 32 all of last dec. This torch upcoming is going to crush anything dec 2011 had to offer thanks to some september like lows and oct like highs.

So glad this torch is happening in the very early stage of december.. much easier to accept than it happening closer to the holidays.

The long range GFS is looking better and better. Look at 300 hrs and you can see Vodka cold coming down the pipe.

Yep...

Now If I had any willpower I would be able to step back away from anything wx related until the torch relaxes next week instead of wasting so many hrs worrying about Fantasy land..

Just get me the grass covered through the Holidays and I will be very grateful even if I end up way below normal snowfall for the month and every body else is plus. I just don't do a brown holiday season very well.
