A couple of things I should point out:

1. if Joe gave his notice, it is common for employers to escort them off site. This is done to protect both the <former> employee and the company. Think about it.

Yeah its become a common practice in recent years that often upon giving 2 weeks notice people are told to either leave immediately or by the end of that current week...its ridiculous because if you're talking about someone who is not in a high paying career they may be depending on that 2 weeks of pay...I would only do that in a case of an employee who had a long rap sheet during their time with me.

There is one NOAA/NWS met Bastardi likes. You can tell he is a Stacy Stewart fan. I think the bodybuilding thing.

BTW, Fox is rightie not because of Murdoch, but because they have almost half the news market to themselves. Business decision. Fox Entertainment, same ownership. Tell me 'Family Guy" is right wing. If, for some reason, JB went to Fox, they wouldn't suddenly throw the ratings away to compete with MSNBC just because of an ownership change.

Energy met, hmmm, he does have family in SETX. But Mrs. Bastardi is a coach for the PSU gymnastics team. Not sure if the Farming and Marching College, the University of Houston or Rice have gymnastics programs. Of course he could be an energy met from his basement near State College...

Yeah I like the Fox gig simply because he could actually pull it off without relocation.

The local affiliate would provide one avenue for connecting into the network....but NYC is only what...4 hours away.....and a few nights there.....plus some travel to various cities.

The other piece to JB is WEB. You stick him on the web with videos and forums and you will have traffic. AMEX featuring JB lol?

So if FOX wanted to start a Wx Web presence to generate revenue.....could be interesting.

If I were him I would consider thinking outside the box......go speak to google and start up a Wx service.

Just watched Henry M. video on JB's Blog site.

Henry talks about next storm Friday and shows GFS run and Euro run and is leaning towards GFS because he wants snow.

No real discussion about the pattern, setup, NAO, PNA, ridge, trough etc. for a reasoning.

Not sure how well this will pan out for subscribers.

:axe: Seriously? Surely AccuWx could have picked a better Met to sub JB.... Like Joe Lundberg for example.

I think the reason they did not pick Joe, although he is an excellent met is because he is to monotone and boring. At least Henry pulls out his big dady hat and does all the schtick  .

I beleive there are laws to procect an employee who give notice: I have been there when someone gives their notice and have had them escorted off site. they were paid two weeks salery as if they were working.

This is all specualtion. we should not be assuming anything. it depends on the State and whether there is an employee contract.

I don't know the hiring policies for ACCUweather, but most likelyJB would have had some sort of contract.
