  1. Past hour
  2. Low of 51 here. No rain yet. Had our first fire pit of the season last night. ‘Twas perfect.
  3. April finished with 4.19” of precipitation which is well above normal, and much appreciated. We really needed it. There was only a T of snowfall. Time for my final winter grade. I’m going to give winter 23/24 a D grade. It was a record warm and very dry winter in Minnesota. However the front and back ends were punctuated by memorable snowfalls that saved the season from a solid F. The 2.3” on Halloween provided a memorable trick or treating experience, and those photos of my kid in the snow we will always cherish. The weeklong cold snap in January provided no snowfall but froze the lakes quite solid and saved the ice fishing and ski seasons from disaster. My local hill was open daily from early December to mid March. The surprise 7” Valentine’s Day snowstorm reminded everyone we still live in a winter weather climate. March is when things got interesting, precipitation began increasing and we bagged a 12” multi day snowfall that broke the doldrums of dryness we endured most of the cold season. Other stat padding events brought us up to 29.5” which is still well below normal but dampers the disaster that was DJF. Only around 50 days until they are getting shorter again.
  4. Looks like at least two crappy days later this week.
  5. do we still have that -NAO? unbelievable how we dont get them in winter, but we get them now
  6. 0.60" here. Welcome for the top layer of the ground.
  7. We can definitely use this rain thats forecasted, even though it's on the weekend.
  8. We have had .05 and the meso's show precip forming to our SW over and over all day.
  9. Over 0.5” IMBY with that.
  10. Newark is on track for its first 90° during May 1-7 without at least 3 consecutive 80° days since 2000. So very unusual to get a 90° day not surrounded by 80° days this time of year. It shows how much resistance these warm ups have been getting from back doors and rain. Data for NEWARK LIBERTY INTL AP, NJ Click column heading to sort ascending, click again to sort descending. 11. Today
  12. It’s like he lives on a different planet. Absolutely nothing makes sense or is real . Half man half Martian ?
  13. Do you and Ken get alerts when each other post? Or is this an auto-canned message that AI generates when anything cool is mentioned? lol. It’s like clockwork. <If words cool, BN, cloudy, rain, showers, are mentioned, respond with dialog about perfect weather immediately />
  14. 91.1 yesterday at 2pm. No rain from passing storms, but a lot of smoke came through in the afternoon. Sky was orange for a bit. Didn't hear anything about a wildfire anywhere.
  15. Almost seems that Soto performing and Judge not performing is netting out and we are left with the same issues/offensive struggles as last year. Anyway nice to eek out a win!
  16. Glad we don't live there.... From NWS Upton. On April 26, the first record lows were set at any local site in nearly 10 months. For context, 39 record highs were recorded in the same period.
  17. Looks like the heaviest rain overnight was confined to a relatively narrow strip across the area. I was woken up by a storm at around 2am. Here’s a radar grab from overnight.
  18. Heavy overnight thunderstorm picked up 0.82”
  19. If I had to guess, probably close to an inch here to your west. It was definitely needed.
  20. What an absolute fabulous first 4 days of May thus far with sun and AN away from nasty ocean. One bad day tomorrow and then back to summer next week .All this after an AN Napril .
