  1. Past hour
  2. It has been on the Euro for days actually, but nothing of consequence on other modeling. Just a front.
  3. Low of 14 at 6:58am, High 37 at 3:34pm
  4. Um i heard the forevsst begore work partyly vloudy thos afternoon turning clear tinight.. where the snow come from ?
  5. At 4:23pm here in Carlisle it is unexpectedly snowing moderately and probably at a rate that exceeds anything I had 2 nights ago. It's beginning to approach heavy as the flake size is increasing. I've picked up 0.3" of snow already and my temperature has dropped from 23 down to 20.3 degrees. I love snow when temps are this cold or colder because it instantly sticks to everything. I haven't looked at radar yet to see how widespread this is, but it remains solidly dark off to my west. What a surprise.
  6. I just took a walk in very refreshing and invigorating 40 degree single digit dewpoint air along with beautiful blue skies and light winds. I love this wx!
  7. Virga overhead in DC right now.
  8. Nobody knows what’s going to happen, that I agree with. But when the models come Out with several cutters, why can’t we just say it? Why do we have to try to explain it away? We can have a discussion about what models actually show, but when we start talking about potential, and what they could show, that’s where I get lost, because that’s not what is currently being advertised. Nobody wants a white Christmas more than me. This is going to be 16 years without one here, this year. Last was 2010
  9. That video was wild. I'm hopeful after Friday's torch we can start building up again Christmas Week. I'm heading to Killington for New Years so fingers crossed!
  10. Yes, I am a threat to your fake little world so many of you are living in here. AI Overview +9 People are "cliquey" on forums due to a mix of psychological needs (belonging, identity) and online anonymity, which lowers inhibitions, leading to strong in-group bonding, "us vs. them" mentalities, and sometimes aggressive "herd mentality" against outsiders, fueled by shared beliefs and a lack of real-world accountability, all amplified by platform dynamics. It's a natural human tendency to find your "tribe," but online, this can quickly turn exclusionary or toxic. Psychological & Social Drivers Social Identity & Belonging: People naturally seek groups that share their interests, beliefs, or identity to feel included and validated, especially if they feel insecure or lack offline community. Anonymity & Disinhibition: The lack of face-to-face interaction lowers inhibitions, making people feel freer to express themselves, form strong bonds, and be more aggressive or less empathetic. Shared Beliefs & Echo Chambers: Forums focused on specific topics (politics, hobbies) naturally attract like-minded individuals, creating echo chambers that reinforce beliefs and make outsiders seem threatening or wrong. Herd/Crab Mentality: A sense of being "stuck" or insecure can lead people to pull others down to feel better about themselves, creating a "why should I let you succeed when I'm struggling?" dynamic. Lack of Accountability: The physical distance and anonymity reduce the social consequences of bullying or exclusion, making it easier to engage in "cliquey" behavior without repercussions. Platform Mechanics Technical Amplification: Forum designs can inadvertently encourage clique formation by making it easy to form private groups or by highlighting popular users. Group Validation: Online validation from a group (likes, agreement) reinforces belonging, making members more loyal and potentially hostile to perceived threats. Why it feels bad Exclusion: Cliques often have clear, unwritten rules about who's "in" and who's "out," making newcomers or those with different views feel unwelcome. Toxicity: When these groups become insular and reinforce extreme views, outsiders are often met with hostility or "character assassination" rather than fair debate, notes
  11. Columbia east side: Hi 23 Lo 14
  12. Tbh I think it might be my proudest joke I've made on the forum. Though I'm not sure I ever really bought into the full doom and gloom we had in here for a little bit. I know its bad practice to use the OP runs but aside from a couple days they never really showed a horrific setup. It always seemed like last year(s) when the ensembles showed a great pattern and the OPs were meh to downright bad the ens ended up adjusting to that reality. I do wonder if there is some science behind the possibility of OP runs aiding in pattern change analysis or if its just confirmation bias.
  13. DCA stayed below 20 for 15 consecutive hours. It does that infrequently and not even annually
  14. We've had some blowing snow today, one of my favorites after a storm.
  15. Sad about this incoming rain. The footage coming out of the Notch, Big Jay etc from this past Friday is as insane as I’ve ever seen out of the East. Hopefully we lock in the base and continue to build
  16. I said this in the foothills thread the other day but the long range screams miller b possibilities east of the apps.
  17. For the many here that have Noyes One degree Outside app.. watch his long range video today. We are definitely very much in the running for a white Xmas . https://imgur.com/a/QNSGzCF
  18. The map looks a little low on parts of LI especially Nassau, numerous 6” reports there.
  19. I know your were being sarcastic, but definitely not a shit the blinds pattern. Not an extremely favorable pattern, but definitely workable.
  20. The 8-9 inch amounts along the 195 corridor was a nice positive bust for a change.
