  1. Past hour
  2. 52 and dreary. Looking forward to next week
  3. Interestingly, temperatures are up a degree or two around here since the light rain started. Even up at the elevations. Latent heat release?
  4. 39.7/27.7F We were far enough north that we had some bright sun this morning into mid day. The temperature maxed out at 49F. Over the past couple of hours the temperature has been falling as well as the dew's. Especially the past hour. The point and click in our area is around 1" of snow. No advisories are up. The trend is your friend and I could see my area of the Lakes Region getting 2-4", maybe up to 5 or 6" if we can get the precip up here. It will be interesting to watch.
  5. There are lightning strikes to our west, and there is good agreement in guidance for convection this evening into the overnight for at least the northern half of the region. Forecast soundings suggest enough instability for a continued threat of thunder.
  6. A for those who got the bigger totals in the most recent storm - I’d say a very solid A- here in Royersford.
  7. 40F here in the valley in E CT and dropping. Decent breeze out of NNW
  8. 54F at my house right now. Cloudy and in the wedge.
  9. latest hrrr looks pretty good imby.. so tough. could see 1", could see 6"
  10. I'm still waiting for this warm-up.
  11. Reality was sort of a blend? Wedge wasn’t as strong as the NAM suggested, but euro was too aggressive eroding it.
  12. Are those thunder showers out west? Or just heavy rain?
  13. Today’s EW for 3/16-22 is slightly colder but it remains the only full week averaging chilly: so a one and done full cool week again this run:
  14. NE winds blowing good now steady drop continues. Hopefully enough
  15. The reverse of this also exists. A nino-style pacific jet extension that blasts warm air into Canada and the E US typically correlates to a weak +PNA.
  16. Wunderground keeps upping the snow totals. Now to 5”
  17. Lots of unknowns, just like mid-March!
  18. I concur! People can barely drive in clear weather, throw in this rainy foggy day and it's a disaster out there.
  19. CHO 79/55 at 3pm. Back down to 75 now
  20. I also have a pellet stove. I estimate I save about 1,200 per year but pellet prices have been going up over the past decade cutting into savings. When I got the stove, I was paying $4 for oil and paying half of what I am now paying for pellets. Money mattered at the time but not anymore. Still saving some money, but it's not the point. My wife is spoiled by that thing since there is always a 90 degree room in the house. 6 tons this winter averaging 360 per ton, about a ton per month plus or minus, 75+ tons since I got the thing. I'd be happy to burn oil and not have to tinker and haul pellets all the time.
