I’m a Will fanboy - I inherently agree violently with whatever he posts -
I would love to see just one neutral winter. I did read from one of the sites yesterday that the Nina is waning very quickly. If I wasn't too lazy I'd research winters where Nina dissipates after December. Like wncsnow said, there are some things on the 12Z that don't make it all doom and gloom, but the next couple of weeks do not look good for winter in the SE. Way too early to throw in the towel though. Maybe my wife gets me that new Taylormade 5 wood for Christmas I have been wanting and I will get to try it out. Looks like I won't have to be worried either about my Tigers playing in brutal cold in NYC right after Christmas

You’re in a good spot for this one I think. Prob like a 2” floor but with some decent upside/ceiling.

We need 3” for statistics to be in our favor -
Winter is back! The usual optimists serial posting snow maps and the usual boo-birds throwing hot water all over them. That's what I'm talking about; bring it on!
-
12z Euro is a solid 2" - 4" with isolated amounts to 5" for folks east of US 15 & north of US 50. It's a weekend event, and the temps crash behind the storm. Also, we're under 72 hours now. Where do I sign?

EPS essentially identical to 6z, if anything came a hair south. Obviously this close in ensembles aren’t gonna jump around but nice to see.

The local snow gradient is quite noticeable over short distances. The corridor from Rt.87 south to 422 seems to have the most amount of snow on the ground. Thankfully I'm sandwiched right between that area

Think it’s 15 for wxmodels

Speaking of things you may not need to pay for… DESI is cool and has the national blend of models. The drawback is it is a demanding web page.

Yeah, COD heading toward six looks like on the Chart and that was the 8th so, extrapolating that course would be coming into six now. Sat Imagery as Carvers alluded looks rather undeterministic irt where really. -
Someone is going to get the goods this weekend, but with such a narrow stripe, there’s no consolation prize.

Ensembles too

I pay $30 a month for WeatherBELL for it not to load.

The main thing we can hope for is the shake-up isn't 6+ weeks, and that whatever happens after that, the Pacific is more favorable going forward. The current pattern is the Ohio Valley dream, and the Central Virginia snow globe, while we get stray flakes and glancing dustings. If Pacific had been a little more cooperative we'd have been clippered to 10+ inches by now. -
Looking like Sunday may not be a weather fun day for us.

Funny how it's literally an I-95 special on the models. Gonna be not so funny when it rug pulls like 6 hours before go time. -

I'm pretty loyal to WxBell's UI - especially on mobile - but it does tempt me. Tomer Berg also at this point has almost everything for free so if I was smarter I'd just switch to that. -

Forget north/south, it is 95 vs everyone else -
Gotta keep an eye on the exact location and timing of phasing that occurs with the energy associated with the vorticity lobe. 12z CMC has it further west/interacts sooner than the 0z run. Pretty big change there, thus more amped/ warmer/norther.
