Pittsburgh/Western PA WINTER ‘25/‘26
colonel717 replied to Burghblizz's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
East of us may do well. Congrats NY and Boston again... Not seeing good enough thermals for us at this point. UKie is way south, AIGFS and GFS heavy rain to backside snow, AIEuro, Euro and CMC all rain. This is really looking like 2021 again to me. Our snow pretty much ended early Feb while east of us prospered. I told my wife earlier this month, I wouldn't be surprised if we only got 2-3 inches the rest of winter. Hoping I wasn't right. -

I lost power for 3 days in October 21, and got one after. Had an awesome electrician @butterfish55 install the panel, and bought a large generator. It’s not whole house; but pretty close. -
Other than the kid who most of us have on ignore, who’s Debbing? Most of us have been around long enough to know, as Paul likes to say, we don’t shovel digital snow.

Are you returning from RSW? -
That SoB is tough I tell ya.

These people have to be under adult age. I can understand if our last snowiest winter was some time during the 20th century, but who could forget about 2009-10, 2010-11, 2013-14, or 2014-15? Those were at least recent enough that people should remember how cold and snowy they were.

Looks like the 12z GEFS again shifted west, much closer to Ocean City, appears any easterly outliers are gone.
-
I love these late season snow storms. After Valentine's Day im rooting for spring and warm and moth season weather so rain is fine with me. But I'm still a snow weenie so I'll always welcome a HECS. Just don't give me a cold and windy March!

I would still trust the global guidance until 00z tonight. After that, I'd put more weights on the mesos.

Getting breaks of sun currently @ 46F. Crazy considering what’s coming.

Here’s to hoping the euro keeps us in the game, that’s what we need from it. Wouldn’t mind some h5 improvement, -

Should be, even though it has high res. It does wonky things close in sometimes. -
Looking at the same thing every run. What does NEPA look like lol

If an artic high is very strong, the cutoff can be very tight. I think 2016 was a good example of that. This storm doesn't seem to have that feature. Any mets want to weigh-in?

Was just looking at solar data. Sun looks to be going blank already in the cycle. Seems a little early for that. It will not last long, but interesting, nonetheless. https://solarham.com/
