Will lead to a very warm CONUS November. Then PV intensifies into December. Maybe we get something that will actually have impacts after mid winter?

and I will continue to show the NCEI common tool of chilling the past and warming the present by highlighting the variance from raw to NCEI across not just Yellow Medicine County but the rest of the USA -
Yeah I'd say we have some windy days, but seems like it was driven by 2 or 3 events?

Sorry the post you referenced is specifically about Yellow Medicine County -
Dry and sunny days lead to an overperformance of high temps. Friday probably hits 80. Low 70s Halloween

Central PA Autumn 2026

I haven't skied in years and never have out west. If you ever get a chance, visit Mammoth Lakes, CA. I did back in 2023 when they had over 700" for the season. I was there in May and there was still multiple feet on the ground in town and the mountain remained open into August. But like the rest of the west, the past couple of years have not been good. This year they didn't make it to June. -
Went to bed after work it was 38. Woke up sweating and it's 76 out. Wtf
-
I love Taos but they just had their two worst winters ever back to back and it wasn't worth a trip. I hope this year to be able to get back out there. With a nino they should do very well. It's a great mountain (if you are an advanced skier) that avoids crowds and the town is really nice, art district, lots of farm to table restaurants, and there is the Native American sites nearby. Santa Fe is only an hour and is worth a visit also.

Drove up to the Schwendi Hutte (I asked Google and they gave me driging directions up the trails ) and skied the top of Waterville last weekend. The snow they made is nearly gone now, but October turns is a first for me at WV.

70 here what a stretch

Would be nice to get some snow in Denver with the next storm system. The only model hinting at it has been the Canadian. Every other one just has a bunch of rain. There are no obvious storm signals past this weekend into early next week either.

70 here after a frosty morning

Ha, came here to post that. You mean we aren't going to get two 2" rainstorms 3 days apart around Nov 5th? The ensembles seem vaguely interested in the period.

One more week of dry weather. Meanwhile, out west, ski resorts are on the verge of opening for the 26-27 winter season. -
28 to 70

Same boat, any water that does get into / into the grass is not moving very much. This last 2 weeks has been perfect grass growing weather. The highs in the 60/70s allows growth but not parching, and the lows in the 30/40's allow a nice "rain dew" every morning from the atmosphere to keep the growth going.

I haven’t looked at the euro, but the 12z gfs should keep @JenkinsJinkies off the ledge for the afternoon. Of course, if you take it literally, then you’re signing up for potential disappointment.
