Don't throw in the towel yet -- Palm Sunday falls on March 29th this year -- the same day that it fell on in 1942: https://www.democraticunderground.com/10565582#google_vignette

Tough call around BOS. Not sure I buy the snowy scenario though.

Winter 2025-26 Medium/Long Range Discussion
Baum replied to michsnowfreak's topic in Lakes/Ohio Valley
Stumbled on this: BRINGING A RETURN TO COLDER CONDITIONS, POSSIBLY ACCOMPANIED BY WIND DRIVEN ACCUMULATING SNOW SOMEWHERE IN THE GREATER REGION. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN IN OUR AREA, IT WOULD BE A CLASSIC CASE OF MARCH "WEATHER WHIPLASH". -
-
What goes up must come down. The region saw a slew of unusually snowy winters in the 2000s-10s. Many areas of the Great Lakes and northeast saw their snowiest decade on record in the 2010s. It was an unrealistic pace that came down. Avg annual snowfall at Detroit is around 43". The past 10 years averaged 39.1" but the previous 10 years 53.3". Avg annual snowfall at Chicago is around 37". The past 10 years averaged 31.9" but the previous 10 years 46.9".

You can book 2-3” on grass only events at minimum post frontal in late March and April alone. Though, you might not know it happened. -
You must have looked at AIFS. I agree that we still have a few weeks, elevation adjusted. I don't consider my region out of the snow season until April 15. BUT, the tide is going out...................

E PA/NJ/DE Spring 2026 Obs/Discussion
Albedoman replied to PhiEaglesfan712's topic in Philadelphia Region
In 2026, the first day of astronomical spring (vernal equinox) in the Northern Hemisphere is Friday, March 20, at 10:46 a.m. EDT. I expect a ton of backdoor coldfronts, foggy days and miserbale cold/cloudy drizzle rains in the next month. A 70 degree day with sun will be a rarity until the pattern changes in late March. Would not be suprised to see overruning mixed precip events the next two weeks too with 3-6 wet snows. We have not even had a dafodill snow event yet let alone a tulip/onion snow and posters are saying that winter is over. This what I have to say about that https://www.google.com/search?q=john+belusho+germans+bombing+peral+harbor&oq=john+belusho+germans+bombing+peral+harbor&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIICAEQABgWGB4yCAgCEAAYFhgeMg0IAxAAGIYDGIAEGIoFMg0IBBAAGIYDGIAEGIoFMg0IBRAAGIYDGIAEGIoFMg0IBhAAGIYDGIAEGIoFMgcIBxAAGO8FMgoICBAAGIAEGKIEMgoICRAAGIAEGKIE0gEKMTQ3MzhqMGoxNagCCLACAfEFvcZ-XV7KWAI&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:6c04cf49,vid:V8lT1o0sDwI,st:0 -
I got 0.1in November. 6in December storm. 2 in, 1 in in January. Then 1 inch and 2 inches in February. So a 11.1 in for the season. Here in York County, VA.

I deleted this post. It belonged in politics. Sorry everyone, bad judgment on my part.

70 today for a while, winter is over.

Capped off our little trip to Saddleback today. Great conditions with comfortable temps both yesterday and today. Wind was ripping good up high with rime and blowing snow this morning. Somewhat tamer this afternoon.

I know people are gonna say I TOLD YOU SO to me about this, and rightly so. I deserve this. ITS MARCH 4. ITS STILL WINTER LMAO! Today it is 85/68. That's a 68 degree dewpoint in early March, at a time when our normal low is 46. Dews should be running ~ 46-56. It's La Nina. La Nina in Texas is Hell HOT and HELL HUMID, with some dewpoints approaching the upper 80s at times. That's New Delhi INDIA- magnitude humidity! This is going to be a full on summer kind of Spring in south central Texas. Summer is going to be 2011-magnitude times a couple decillion. Might as well drop a couple thermonuclear missiles at us. Maybe Iran will. COLD FRONTS IN BUDA HAVE BEEN REPEALED until Christmas 2026. Rain will be scarce. Water is going to be far more valuable than Bitcoin, Silver and Gold put together. It's been real nice knowin y'all. I am not going to make it to July 1 2026. I am going to get burned alive by that damn SUN, and/or suffer a FATAL STROKE from 90/88 conditions while I try to work outside. G-d KNOWS I am super overweight which is one reason I can't walk very well, plus BAD BAD LEROY BROWN KNEE PROBLEMS, baddest knees in the whole damn town, badder than old King Kong, meaner and more painful than a junkyard dog. That's why those 85 dewpoints are definitely gonna kill me DEADER than a proverbial doornail. Writing's on the Wall. I know it. You know it. The entire town of Buda, Texas knows it. They've watched my health go straight down like a screaming aerodynamic CRASH right into a flaming dumpster. Just in the past 6 months.

Plenty of deep snow left in the hills
-
I dunno 18z is looking pretty meh so far compared to some of the earlier runs today
-
Not sure that is the case. Why wouldn't a deep east based trough work the same as January.

Those banks are bulging
