  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, it will be better, but the question is how much better...as Chris says.
  3. Just north of there working. Can confirm. Its cooking and im already soaked lol
  4. For anyone on the I95 the 2030s should be significantly snowier than the 2020s. Hard to do worse than rock bottom.
  5. My son and I did 45 mins outside working on the deck. That was plenty. Shirt soaked in sweat.
  6. I was assuming that we were looking at more of a 2024 or 2010 like heat where the focus wasn’t on the humidity, but this is damn near 2011.
  7. yeah if this was back in the 90s, there'd be crazy alerts.
  8. I expect something similar temp wise, but snowfall in the higher terrain of northern New England is still a bit of a wild card. Not a pretty look overall for December, though.
  9. Mesonet picking up a DP of 79 with air temp 94 in college park. cooking. "apparent temp" (is that heat index? @Eskimo Joe) 111!
  10. Impressive but probably short of all-time records. They've reached 96 on 4 occasions, May 1977 and June 1944, 2020, 2024. Those peaks came with lower dews than the current condition, and cooking water likely will modify the heat.
  11. yep - gotta thing in Celsius (bc of the backwards way they do the F -> C -> F conversion): 98.6 -> 37C 100.4 -> 38C 102.2 -> 39C 104 -> 40C 105.8 -> 41C
  12. 98/74. It's not even noon.
  13. DCA is 94/76 at 11am. Absolutely brutal.
  14. DCA actually hit 100 a few times in 2024 with a south wind, so it still can happen.
  15. To be fair, there was one severe cell that did go up. I'm pretty sure it hinged upon surface convergence along the outflow / differential heating boundary from the early day MCS in Northern WI / MI being sufficient enough for widespread initiation, and it was close as several other cells did attempt to go up. But hey, it happens. And it just shows how sensitive the potential is in such a moisture-laden / high instability / weakly capped environment.
  16. Do you have any early thoughts about December? Especially for elevated interior new england? I'd be happy if it's better than the washout disaster ski month that december 2015 was.
  17. Very light sea breeze so far. We'll have to wait until the afternoon for any relief Holding around 93/79
  18. Wilmington, DE has reached 98°. That ties the daily record that was set in 1941 and tied in 1966.
  19. Struggling a bit in the Merrimack Valley. MHT 89F at 11am, but they're still 6F ahead of yeterday at this time.
  20. December 2000 was cold and snowy in NYC. The real outlier years for lack of snow and warmth were 2001 and 2006. The December 11 year snowfall average from 2000-2010 was 8.9” in NYC which was the best since the 1940s. December 1989 was a whole different story for extreme cold. It was more like a typical LIA winter than anything we have ever seen in modern times.
