Across the street from me workers were on scaffolding that partially fell (per fire radio, I couldn’t see it on my side). This is in Gaithersburg. Sounds like they were okay. Saw fire equipment I didn’t know existed like an 18 wheeler truck.

The white "barriers" at Gringos and Mariachi's in Potomac blew over (and a chair went into the middle of Park Potomac Ave). Pretty good storm. Hoping the commute isn't too bad by the time I head east around 5:30. For tomorrow/Wed the models and SPC want to favor SW of us...but as we saw today - the models waffled a lot. So I think a lot of us remain in the game.

Not too impressive in my part of Silver Spring. Not much LTG/T at all. G45KT leading edge. Rainfall not torrential. The leading edge of the line was just forming a shelf cloud as it passed so it had not quite matured yet, so I would have thought better or more widespread for such an impressive line. CG plot attached. Looks like it weakened as it move into the N and NW of the immediate metro!

I think even if it were a Weak El Nino the model would show N. Pacific trough for the Winter. Not saying we aren't going to get it, just noticed that 100% of the time it predicts ENSO climo.

But this Nino at +1.8 is already stronger than 23-4 at its +1.5 peak. This is going to dwarf 23-4. -

I still struggle with that, but have gotten better...it's just tough when you have a history of struggling to be receptive to alternative viewpoints and spend so much time and effort articulating your own thoughts....all of the investment, which is ostensibly a positive in that it's a vehicle for growth, tends to leave me more susceptible to undervaluing dissenting viewpoints. It's a balance between the understanding the that the incorporation of others' thoughts is ideal, and the instinct to be protective over an ideology that you have spent in an inordinately excessive amount of time and effort formulating. That is the essence of DBT in a nutshell...utilizing the ability to balance the extremes in life to identify and correct maladaptive thought and behavioral patterns to improve intrapersonal relationships. It's apparent on social media that many folks within weather circles could use a DBT course. -
