  1. Past hour
  2. Gorgeous night. Doesn't get much clearer and refreshing.
  3. WHO LET MOTHER NATURE INTO MY STILL?! A FROST ADVISORY ON MOTHERS DAY?!?!?!?!
  4. We have almost no flat ground at the house. If we were to eat outside it would likely be around the corner in the rose garden. This is the worst the lawn has been. It is a combo of very poor soil in this stretch, the dogs obsession with playing fetch, and possibly grubs. The soil barely drains water- I think it was largely waste fill that the prior owners put in when building. I plan to dig out the top 4 inches or so and replace it. I have tried to amend what is there but it hasn't worked. You can see the path the dogs run around the table to get tennis balls thrown over the table. I would complain but they have done a great job weeding parts of the yard as they make their paths.
  5. You'd also have to wait for a five year environmental impact study on how the dome impacts the breeding habits of the tiger mosquito in the nearby estuary.
  6. There’s no way that’s your main lawn. Is that where you eat meals in warm season?
  7. Today
  8. Union wage, etc.,closer to a billion. NYC building costs are astronomical compared to the rest of the country. I forget the difference of the cost of Citifield being built with a dome vs. no dome, but it was quite large. It would cost $800 million to put one on now...
  9. KFS knew. The below is my yard this afternoon, it is not Kevin's- I fear he would have a heart attack if his grass looked like this, two of the big reasons why it is in this state are pictured.
  10. Yesterday
  11. The Bears won game 5 v Lehigh Valley and advance to the next playoff round.
  12. I went and covered everything. Pain in the ass but taking no chances with the full moon tonight. Always listen to the old wise men...
  13. Grand Forks was high 99, low 60. That breaks a high temperature record of 95, set back in 1906. Surprisingly, Grand Forks was 86 degrees on May 11th, 2023 and 85 degrees on May 11th 2024. These are nearly the maximum values since 1907.
  14. We're getting a loud message from GSP and the State regarding this heavy rain event. That's a good thing! I'm sure that a lot of folks get a little nervous when we have a heavy rainfall event forecast for our area.
  15. 77 today
  16. They’ve been getting scientific attention, different means to describe amid the ambit but ‘heat burst’ and ‘synergistic heat events’ even ‘ heat bombs’ to name a few When they occur … realized temperatures will often exceed guidance/leading indicators some times by as much as 2 or even 3 standard deviations… The frequency of these has been increasing throughout the world over the last 2 decades. Im not sure if the heat up there straddling the borders is of synergistic nature … but it admittedly has that look.
  17. Yet Don S is projecting a 2.5F above normal May it's weird weather
  18. Death ridge over the plains too…this May sucks for storm chasers. I’m out there right now and we’ve had to resort to chasing Alabama and Mississippi. Otherwise we’d be completely shut out.
  19. How is leaf out there ? Also what is soil moisture at ?
  20. it is always surprising to see very hot temperatures occurring next to the warm front, regardless of it being a warm front. I have enough memories from being younger that thermal behavior was not like this, but i don't want to assume anything. For many years now there have been so many instances of the hottest thermal activity existing in ways that appear isolated, at higher latitude due to strong warm fronts. But did this actually used to happen as well ??
  21. When this heat wave gets done with us by May 25th, all of central TX will be a burned out husk. I have a question for the pro Mets on here? Was 2011 Summer a NEG NEUTRAL ENSO? In 2011 entire forests burned in central Texas. It was like California in fire season. Because if it was, then this summer in Texas will be an INFERNO for sure. And, been real nice knowin' y'all.
  22. We’ve reached 90 at MSP. Setting a new record high for today. There is a 200 acre wildfire burning north of @Brian Din Brimson MN. With the conditions the next few days it could get out of hand quickly if not contained.
