Sun has been coming in and out today. We could get a once-in-ten-thousand-year storm today and it would still be the absolute most wonderful day. I feel like I've been born again. -
Cool and overcast in Mahwah. Drying out for now.

Look out western ski resorts especially higher els: https://www.weather.gov/rev/ They may be opening early this season.
-
AFD’s are issued regardless of the weather. Have you read one? They used to be issued every 6 hours or so and more often when weather warranted it. That no longer seems to be the case. The storm isn’t severe, but it’s still nice to get the latest thoughts about it from professionals. Changes in winds, qpf, etc… AFD’s also contain latest marine and aviation discussions, which matter to those who need them, even if it’s not me. There could be 50-75 mph gusts out over open waters…

Best 'skill' Rush has is a hard count lol

Holding the LB’s would definitely make for some open receivers.

The return of the elusive Nor'easter. Drought buster or bust?
JenkinsJinkies replied to dailylurker's topic in Mid Atlantic
The big warmth waits for the 2nd week of January as of late. -
We’re roarin’ and pourin’ out here. The wind is blowing the rain back up my roof. Never seen that before. It hits the drip edge and just shoots straight up and back towards the ridge. Tide is super high and waves are pounding the neighbor’s dock.

Mountain West Discussion

Looks like Phoenix’ Sky Harbor airport picked up 1.7” overnight and this morning. El Paso got over an inch last night. Salt Lake City also recently had one of their wettest days on record, and Las Vegas got 0.90” in thunderstorms a few days ago. So most of the major metro areas in the desert SW and Great Basin are lucking out lately on rainfall - with the exception of Tucson, which is still way below normal for the year to date. -
E PA/NJ/DE Autumn 2025 Obs/Discussion
rcostell replied to PhiEaglesfan712's topic in Philadelphia Region
Thats funny...I was thinking the same thing. I'm in western Camden County, NJ...not a drop here today. I remember that storm well- 2 feet at the beach and the precip line just stopped near egg harbor tolls. I actually wrote to Elliot Abrams at the time (in a respectful way, asking what tha?) and he was kind enough to respond comprehensively. Seemed like such a locked in forecast- only to unravel almost the same day. Very similar to this one...professional forecasting is so difficult at times. It almost feels as if the models still can't predict such vagaries- even decades later. -
That combo would open up some easy pass plays. Rush is a statue, and an interception machine.

Same. I'm fine with cold and dry. I can't stomach 65 and sunny on Christmas. -
Yep. Brutal cutoff on precip for those of us in the western hinterlands.
