  1. Past hour
  2. None taken..it is a general rule but not exactly what happens. But it is basic info for the newbies . Lol
  3. 0z Euro is great. 10+ for everyone. Until tomorrow
  4. Definitely picked up a bit here.. The flakes are so wee that its actually hard to tell. My cars are starting to cave, but the road seems ok at the moment. Probably not for long. Down to 17F
  5. Yeah. And with the 00z euro, the last shred of modeling to consider unless you're agonizing over HRRR runs is done. Nothing left to look at but the radar. We'll either see the juice coming to beat down the warm nose, or we won't.
  6. Currently a 10+ degree difference between me (31.5) and 3 or so miles up the road (low to mid 40s multiple stations)
  7. Which is why I mentioned, winds and upper air conditions. Surface temps are not exclusive to exact ratios anyway. If it feels like sand then there was some warmer air intrusion somewhere.
  8. 1.6 OTG with the mix line 50 miles south of me. It’s an extraordinary pretty snow but makes me wish we could’ve gotten more. That said, I think the nams may verify as they kept me from 1-3 of snow and I doubt I can pickup over 2 inches before I get sleeted.
  9. Good lord. that was one of the most cold one mile Jebwalks I have ever taken. The snow is steady. Not crushing. But the cold. OMG very different from my normal Jebwalk. It is cold as shit out yall.
  10. Friends upstream (AK, GA, South VA) all reporting warmer and drier than expected
  11. Models starting to pick up on enhanced area of snows north of Pgh.
  12. Yeah, trying to associate ratios with surface temps is a fools game. I've seen some of the best ratios right at 32. Bxstormwatcher...no offense intended
  13. The Euro AI has been really consistent as has the UKMET, lets hope they're on to something. The AI has been performing well this winter
  14. A must for times like this https://battaglia.ddns.net/twc/# Don't forget to unmute
  15. Where does this come from? I've seen it snow in the single digits and accumulate like sand because at too cold temps the flakes start to resemble needles that don't accumulate efficiently. Lower surface temps don't mean better ratios. Why Some Snowflakes Look Like Needles - BelowClouds.com
  16. Been pixie dusting most of the night but banding is improving greatly to the southwest and moving this way.
  17. Euro lost a lot of QPF in the early morning which lets the warm nose burst through. Would be a cave to the NAM if it verifies. With the 00z euro run in, nothing more to watch really but the radar. A good slug of moisture and the beltway can score. Without it, we're in rough shape.
  18. I’ve got heavy rates but small flakes so when they get big it’s 1”ph . It’s weird as you go out and can’t see much accumulation but walk on it and you hear and feel it
