  1. Past hour
  2. Seems we're working on a new drought. As expected, not a drop again.
  3. Maybe Wednesday and Thursday? But some signs it’s not totally cloudy. Especially inland.
  4. I do shake my head at certain communities who shun accuweather What did they even do
  5. No doubt there whatsoever. Especially on social media. Though I still blame some of the people who lost their lives in the Kerrville area floods. NWS (despite its slowly increasing flaws), but especially much more thanks to the Austin/San Antonio office meteorologists, did 100% do their job posting FF watches & warnings hours in advance before the flood waters from the Guadalupe river (which I've seen from my own eyes before is a big one here in TX), really started to escalate in Kerr county as it easily overflowed its banks. Accuweather meteorologist Jon Porter detailed the timeline of the watch and warnings posted July 3 - 4 on air today here: https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/camp-mystic-where-deadly-texas-flooding-took-place-is-in-flash-flood-alley/1791962 About the 'no technology' girls camp called Camp Mystic being in a low-lying area near the Guadalupe river, I do not blame the camp for having a 'no technology' rule. Just that the camp leaders could've been more mindful of the bad weather that had already been going on in the area in the days prior when TS Barry's remnant MCV was nearing TX early last week. A NOAA wx radio (that has a warning alarm, even for flooding) at least in this case would've probably been enough to save most of the lives there.
  6. That's the total including 0.12" that fell yesterday late afternoon.
  7. Am I wrong? Are you calling for lots of sun the rest of the week?
  8. Of course in reality IEM serves as a data provider to the NWS and others I am looking to see if some of this data is incorporated into how NCEI arrives at their adjusted data....to tweak the actual real climate data.
  9. Somerville is reporting 80 degrees with an 80 degree dewpoint and fog/mist. What is this insanity
  10. As I thought "ghost data" is a big nothing burger. A figment of the denier imagination. The estimates are made by IEM not NOAA. Below is IEM's rationale for providing estimates. Why do this? Previously, the IEM has only provided raw observations with limited quality control checks in place. Quality control is hard! Many times, users are simply looking for something "close" and perhaps not as perfect as high quality sensor observations can be. Producing a gridded analysis is one way to produce a dataset from point observations which can be sampled as a means of spatial interpolation. https://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/iemre/
  11. The WCS version of the PDO has fallen quite a bit more since July 2nd. As of July 6th, it’s way down to -3.29! It was actually down to ~-3.30 on July 5th. I’ve never seen this so negative. The NOAA daily PDO is likely down to sub -4!
  12. Don, it's the doomsday views and failed forecasts (Hello Al Gore) attribution of what is of course just weather that will continue to doom the climate alarmist agenda....all weather events that are occurring now have happened before. Until that changes there is little scientific reality ground to stand on!
  13. Itchiness going on between many cheeks . Dude wipes and secret trips to bathroom to continue “ cleaning up “ ?
  14. Early rains prevented another 90 day. Topped out at 86. Dews are around 80.
  15. Today definitely felt significantly more gross to me than last Tuesday when we hit 100 here
  16. LOL!! your "science" moved on the rest of us rooted in reality and actual data are not fooled.....
  17. Yesterday
  18. These dews are dew-gusting Ate dinner on the porch (my vote was the dining room). So gross
  19. Yes. Definitely different from last summer so far which featured periods of higher temps but, overall, lower dewpoints when we were in the thick of the drought.
  20. Long shot but let’s see if that line developing in western PA holds to give us a late lightning show 11-12AM…
  21. Not a surprise that HRRR was way off with the huge amounts for today. That model is very inconsistent, and it seems to be wrong more often than it's right.
