  1. Past hour
  2. Still a very hot 93 degrees at Newark. Incredible how the heat can just linger in that area.
  3. Impressive win! Go USMNT! gonna be tough without Balogun next game…
  4. Yeah wasn’t bad just N in East Meadow for Little League baseball. Breeze helped this evening. One win away from winning the district & advancing to sectionals.
  5. At Massapequa Park tonight for fireworks, you would never know there was a heatwave, very comfortable night.
  6. Max 93 here today. DP 81. Both pretty typical for AACo.
  7. I smell derecho! Of note, the definition of derecho was modified last year and it's requirements are more specific and somewhat more restrictive. WxWiz and CoastalWx were proby not aware! https://journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/bams/106/1/BAMS-D-24-0015.1.xml
  8. We are absolutely buried in knotweed all along the West Branch up here. I don’t notice it in any of the larger feeders or flashier drainages like Notchbrook or Sterling Valley. It’s the West Branch here that flows through a lot of agriculture acres, golf course, draining fert and manure along the way in the larger valley (relative size around here).
  9. I’m up in vt and it was in the upper 90’s this afternoon. Glad I’m not running the ac at home.
  10. 84 at MSP. Storms missing to the south. Probably should just post in the July thread.
  11. 1982 is actually the only super El Niño to average barely -WPO DJFM (-.17)....probably largely why it's the only one in which my area pulled off normal snowfall. December was very strongly +, then January was about neutral before the bottom dropped out. Good Analog IMO. 1982 1.42 1983 -0.05 -0.89 -1.14
  12. Yeah, it's just a blank ASOS screen with the phrase No Carrier over and over lol
  13. Today
  14. Why would you measure anomalies from decades ago with present day climo? I use the appropriate climo period for all of my analogs...H5 and temps.
  15. I was at a Phillies game one day during a heatwave there. Absolute torrid hell.
  16. I have already said I think it will be colder than 2015-2016, just not cold.
  17. Actually the Park was a decent representation of NYC today. Same 93 at LGA, and several degrees warmer than JFK, as you would expect with a south wind most of the day. That intense upper 90s heat was more in NJ and west of the Hudson in general. Or a good distance north of NYC in the Hudson Valley. Did achieve 100+ heat indexes though with mid 70s dew points.
  18. Falls lake, after the two watering days, has resumed its steep fall that was stabilized for about a week due to rain
  19. We've only managed to hit 90, 91, 90 the last three days, so pretty tame.
  20. It was loud and flashy when it rolled through here. Some pretty heavy rain too.
  21. Toronto hit 97 as well with a dew of 77. 113F with the heat index
