  1. Past hour
  2. Very hard to measure with the drifts but we have some drifts over 4 feet in some spots!
  3. I’m at 20 flat OTG. None of that official measurement with a snow board and all that shit. Raw dog measurement the old fashioned way. And its ripping.
  4. Hang in there mate. I feel you. Like you, I think many of us on this board are the defacto Mets for our family/friends and it can get exhausting trying to communicate nuance about weather with those who have no understanding of the basics, and like you said, have too much access to garbage maps and internet personalities. We have some friends who are teachers here in Hempfield and a couple days ago I told them that regardless of what we got I'd be shocked if they had school on Monday. Well guess what, Hempfield only has a two-hour delay, and that is the right call by the district, but those teacher friends are razzing me now. It's all in fun and I let stuff roll off my shoulders, but it can get tiring and takes some of the joy out of the hobby. People constantly texting "are we getting this much? What about this map? blah blah blah". I will say this though, which I've stated before, a number of pro Mets would be well-served to display a little humility in their forecasting. We all know, as @Jns2183 has been proving lately, that this game is still mostly luck when forecasting down to the local level. Way too much hubris out there in the weather world. I digress.
  5. Don, same here. Look to add a few more inches with this arc-shaped band.
  6. Maybe another 0.8" in the last hour for an event total of 5.8" in Salem NH. Frustrating to see that mid-level fronto band really intensifying from New Ipswich to Mont Vernon to MHT while we continue to choke on exhaust here relative to surrounding areas. But at least we're getting some scraps as opposed to a total shutout, so we continue to build a pretty impressive snowpack for this area.
  7. yup perfect spot this band has been parked over my area.. never ever happens
  8. Why would she give such old updates. My wife insists on having the news on. I tell her it's crap.
  9. I think PVD has a serious shot at breaking that record from 78.
  10. Picked up a half inch since 7:30am. It's painful looking at that heavy band just a few miles to the east. I was really hoping for some heavier stuff during daytime.
  11. That LLJ exit region south of LI is pretty cool. Cleary seen on radar.
  12. It was nice to see the grass for awhile. Closing in on 6" IMBY. Surprisingly heavy snow, not the usual fluff.
  13. Looks like it’s trying to make a push to Worcester but it’s struggling.
  14. I think the 17-19 forecast from NWS is doable. Even being skunked by subsidence.
  15. Doesn't look like the center moved much in that interval either
  16. That sounds like... Heavier snow.
  17. That's what I was saying yesterday, no doubt some areas are getting a historic blizzard reading some of the obs threads, but it was really close to something bigger for a larger area or real estate. Looks like it did take a little longer to capture and get going and thus DE probably didn't do as well, also tracked a bit further SE, and with the cutoff being so sharp that really impacted places on the edge. I can't imagine historic blizzard warnings and being essentially 2 counties over and getting only like 2-3 inches. I'd probably make some posts in here that I'd later regret lol
  18. Can’t wait for things to green up. .
  19. Definitely can sense the snow is getting a little drier in the last hour or so.
  20. i dislike when nws ny does not give hourly reports of snow totals..
