  1. Past hour
  2. Flipped back to mostly snow here in southern Yonkers.
  3. Made 7 inches in Towson before the flip, and it's been pouring sleet basically ever since. I haven't bothered measuring the sleet, but I shoveled the driveway right before the flip and there's at least 2 inches of compacted sleet now back covering it. One thing I will say about this high volume of sleet - it can be misleading. The weight means it isn't piling up on deck railings and other typical spots we are used to eyeballing to get a sense of rough snow depth - but it IS piling up in some weird places. I have some snow/sleet "drifts" just off my back porch that are well over a foot deep. Higher than my tall boots - and ask me how I found THAT out.
  4. No, this was in 99 or 2000. I used to work on Wisconsin Ave. and it took me hours to get to my house in Adelphi.
  5. Went out and measured about half hour ago a little over 7 as an estimate It’s 9 degrees and heavy snow. 8,7,6.5 in various spots of the yard because I have zero area that is not impacted by wind. So estimating around 7 ish. It’s 9 degrees and heavy snow .
  6. Wantage NJ 10.5" 230PM. much 1/4S+ small flake snow the past few hours...densely packed, drifting occurring. temp still 4.5F
  7. First pingers in Wading River, temp up to 20f
  8. Same here, a hair over 9”. Sleet. I cleared a part of the table to see how much additional we get.
  9. Still think 12-18 is fine for most of CT, some of the shore probably ends up <12. Bet BDR doesn't crack 12. This is absolutely wild. Nearly every station reporting S+ with temps in the single digits. MMK6, OXC 5. HVN is warm at 15. Still 6F here. Truly a unique storm, never seen anything like it.
  10. Looks like we will go over to freezing rain in dc soon, mping reports just east of town.
  11. Later it will glaciate. Then you have to be very careful walking on it.
  12. Hard to measure but my driveway fairly protected 10 in a drift but 7 and 8 inches otherwise.
  13. Still pouring sleet in Colonial Beach. Doesn't look like there's going much lull in the precip for another 5 hours
  14. And many other mets disagree…. So we wait and keep our guards up. I don’t think anyone knows. It’ll be interesting.
  15. Slightly over 10 inches in new Rochelle- heavy mix of snow and sleet .
  16. I noticed a couple of really nice bands moved through Concord and then lessened an intensity just around or north of me. I assume the whole thing keeps shifting a bit north and some of those bands get up to you.
  17. I measured 9.2" at 2:45 pm. I didn't wipe the boards, but placed another. It will be interesting to see the comparison. It's pretty cool watching the visibility fluctuate as the snow/sleet mix fluctuates.
  18. Sleet downpour. Sleet avalanches off the roof.
  19. Checked and am back to about 50/50 snow/sleet (can definitely hear the pingers again). Not seeing accretion so if there was rain mixed it, it may have been FRDZ. Currently 15 with dp 13.
