Frustrating for sure, but I try to remind myself that ~10 days ago this upcoming week was looking like a full-on torch. Since I personally love cold for its own sake (not just for association with snow), I'll be savoring the chilly temps and scanning the horizon nervously for signs of the inevitable late-December torch.

It appears that November 2025 at DCA ended the three consecutive months of below normal temperature streak by finishing at 50.2 degrees, vs the 1991-2020 November normal of 49.9 degrees. (However, there is uncertainty about this because for some reason there is missing temperature data for November 16th and 23rd.) Precipitation at DCA was below normal at 0.92 inches vs 2.90 during 1991-2020. The January-November 2025 temperature averaged 61.6 degrees at DCA, compared with the record warm 63.6 during January-November last year.

I also gassed up my snowblower and started it up. Ready for whatever this week brings!

I got skunked, as well, those years. This has a December 2000/2002 vibe.

Since everyone's been working on snowblowers I have a quick question. Has anyone ever had a coil go bad but it still lights the spark plug tester?The tester lights, but when I ground the plug I don't see any spark.

Quite an STJ moisture train over head now, connecting the previous system to the next: It stretches from French Micronesia to Newfoundland. Not terribly La Nina like IMO.

Winds hit here about an hour ago. Gusted to 38 a short time ago. Dews falling rapidly.

Nasty forecast here…if gradient is closer to 128, then we rip here. If it’s more like just outside of 495, we’re in trouble. I think ORH to Ray’s area is in good shape.
