  1. Past hour
  2. Mo one had their finger on the pulse of how Enceladus impacts the MJO more than Roger RIP to a real one
  3. You'd finally get your fill of snow! This is what 5.5+ feet of snow looks like. Pretty much standing in the same spot as the late August pic this past Summer. Took some weight off the roof as well. Inside the house is like a cave. EDIT: The lesser snow on the left side of the pic is a path i blew to the propane tank a few weeks back.
  4. We had that in our last house, on cold winter days after the furnace shut off after brining house up to temp it would feel cold, so I put in a wood stove, new house has BBHW by propane and like it much better, mini-splits for cooling and heating and a propane heater in the fireplace.
  5. I was born inverted. Imagine the joy that comes from talking about my giant nose.
  6. The NAO and AO this morning are forecasted to stay positive after showing it possibly going negative a few days ago. Any hope for winter weather in the east south of New England looks to be finished. There will be some brief cold shots but not dramatic.

  9. Here's the verification...ENH was extended too far north in PA but otherwise it looks pretty good to me:
  10. I don't understand this. If they only blocked your ass, you should still be able to see just fine.
  11. Just a quick follow up to your (excellent) post - last night's frontal passage ended up verifying a lot of the pre-event hype that people were calling bust on. There were a total of 476 confirmed wind damage reports within the MOD/ENH/SLT areas. Also appears that it's likely that at least one Tornado touched down in Kent County in DE.
  12. Low of 36. Currently it is 46/28 and breezy.
  13. I know it snowed some more overnight and this morning, but I hadn't taken the time before just now to go outside and measure on the flat part of the deck itself, not the railing-- fully 4 /1/2".
  14. This is my 4th winter here and wrt Wisp, this was their best season of the last 4. In fact, each year since the 22-23 dud, it's gotten better (not saying much, I know). Hopefully next year, we'll get a couple of bona fide coastals that bury us. Since they threw in the towel, the Wisp employees are in limbo right now and the ~25 J1 visa employees have all returned to South America. It's that weird intra-seasonal space between ski and golf season where it's tough to get anything done there. Looking outside, occasional snow showers continue and temp is still at 19. Not too shabby for St. Patty's Day
  15. 14 with light snow at the house. Picked up another .5" this morning. Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro using Tapatalk
  16. 25 degrees at work at noon. Very impressive for really any time of the season but especially in mid March when our average is 60 degrees.
  17. It won't be once I move to Mars. The lack of water there however, will be a problem for snowfall. Musk has to get that solved.
  18. Thoughts on travel conditions into the Daks on Thursday? I need to make a quick run up to Saranac and back.
  19. I was outside at the tail end and saw the flurries here. He was a solid poster, always thorough and professional. It's amazing that he posted right to the end and there was no indication of a problem. RIP Roger Smith
  20. Basically no tornadoes in a 15% hatched and no significant wind. It was windy and lot of little reports of a tree limb down, but not a moderate risk. Moderate would have had widespread significant damage. The previous day was only an enhanced and it was more active than yesterday.
