I just saw this video of a bear dodging a vehicle on I-70 before then running into the side of another vehicle on the adjacent surface street near W Vail 4 days ago! There also were 2 reports of bear sightings in my vicinity near W Vail the last 36 hours. The horrible drought is causing them to be searching for alternative food sources. This area has had spotty but impressive looking monsoonal convection during mid to late afternoon developing over the highest peaks. Little rainfall has reached the ground, however. https://www.9news.com/video/life/animals/bear-runs-into-vehicle-after-crossing-i-70-near-vail/73-4bdfb8f4-5654-42b6-b936-1fae9b44bbc7

I don't think I've mowed Pit2 since the second week of July. Brown and dead. At least Pit1 is going strong. Needed weekly.

That's a crazy list of analog years with no rhythm or reason if you just consider Enso. -
Wow, forecasting is in a sad state of affair nowadays. Chimps would be better at predicting precip. And they can't even use the usual "this is an extremely complicated setup" trope that we hear every time during the winter.

Where did the rainfall changes go. My PAC yesterday said 3/4-1 inch. Now it is down to less than a tenth.

3K NAM on crack for Sunday AM..or just on crack in general. Wouldn't mind some actual soaking rains for a couple hours -
Sitting on the screened porch to enjoy the light rain. This looks like not much unless radar fills in later. 0.10 so far

Finally starting to see elements of the 2023, 2015, and 1997 late August into September patterns show up in the analog composite. -

Thankfully no misery mist in Southborough. We'll see about 11 miles east when I get to the woodyard.

Only 27 more to go to tie the record for most tornadoes on record in any state. Not sure it’ll happen but it’ll be remarkably close. What a crazy spring/summer
