  1. Past hour
  2. Obviously I certainly hope so. Ever since moving here, I've been surprised at the overall lack of precip but I also know we've been in a long term drought for ages. After this wet stretch, we go right back into the dust bowl unfortunately. In looking at the stats for winter 15-16 (you can't use the Oakland weather stats...the reporting site is right next to the hospital building and is wildly inaccurate, so I use Bayard as a proxy - whoever is their observer does a great job) you had the bomb in January and some other precip during the second half of winter but overall, it's what you would expect during a significant El Nino. @dailylurker and I communicate regularly and have been looking for a reasonably priced snow camp up on the Tug Hill east of Lake Ontario to get our fix...maybe we'll be lucky enough not to need it this upcoming winter!
  3. Morning was okay if you put up your hood. Summer the way it should be....
  4. Just confirming that our recent MDWs have sucked.
  5. The sun actually is peeking out here in Dundalk.
  6. What is this https://x.com/iembot_okx/status/2059016170162802925?s=46&t=m4Eqkekadb-JCXTm7k-Txg
  7. 73 with a dew of 55 turned out to be a pretty nice afternoon
  8. Maybe the higher summits.. it would be neat seeing mount monadknock with snow on top.. its about a 2 minute drive to get a good view of it .. maybe even going to the top of wachusett at 2,000?
  9. One year ago today the high was 72. The same as today.
  10. I guess I've been harping on it a little much, you're right it's still early. If the AAM goes over +3, that's impressive and more of a -NPH signal for the rest of the year imo. It will be interesting to see what actually happens after that, as the AAM tends to see-saw between positive and negative bouts, about every 35-40 days.
  11. I will take this Omega block for as long as it, well, can block lol. I'm not going to complain about roughly 75/55 days ever. Absolutely perfect weather. Maybe snoozefest but man will this be a nice 10 day stretch if it holds. One of the best Spring stretches in many years.
  12. Man its very humid today! We have almost 6.5 inches so far with more on the way tonight
  13. Whew that rain over the northern neck of VA looks heavy, too heavy. I do hope we get some moderate stuff later here though. Dark overcast again
  14. Today
  15. Actually most of the rain is north of SNE Friday night . Maybe pike north . Cooler Saturday but rains are pretty far north on guidance . 90 looks like a lock Wednesday for usual areas
  16. Congrats on another ruined weekend with no snow
  17. Rain shut off right at noon, 0.87" total. Need about 1/2" to reach the May average. Thought things would clear but there's been more clouds than sun this afternoon.
  18. That’s awesome. I use this app too and the number of titmice, warblers and chipping sparrows has been insane this year. Have also seen quite a few red bellied woodies making their presence known this year.
  19. Guarantee those of us on the immediate coast will see a full solar breakout within the last hour or so of the day, while folks west of Springfield will have already caught up on any missed napage. Sometimes I feel like we’re following some kind of poor, but totally predictable (and tragic) script on Memorial Day.
  20. Perhaps the Super Nino is already exerting on the synoptic weather. I hope so! I'd love an entire summer of heavy rain and three foot tall lawns!
