My Cooperative Observation site (RSTM2) is making a run to 99° for the second day in a row.

While we’ve been enjoying our mild stretch of weather, Flyers GMBD dropped some bombs… Giroux is back. Typical Flyers move, bringing back a former player. Don’t know what he has left in the tank, but they need someone to play center. And a huge offer sheet to Leo Carlsson.

At my PWS it was 101/78 about an hour ago for a heat index of 118F. Now it's 102.6/75.2 for a heat index of 117.3

Looks like MRB had some kind of equipment failure.

Looks like little to no sea breeze down the jersey shore. Growing up we were near 2nd & Corinthian St in Ocean City. Only once, in 1995, did we have it where the sea breeze failed to even get halfway through the island. -
Got rolled at home before heading off to work. Peak wind gusts ~60MPH with scattered branches down around town. As for ORD, one of the runway sensors gusted to 63MPH, but ASOS had a peak wind gust of 54MPH.

At Jones Beach today. Had to get to the boardwalk to get any real relieve. Car thermometer close to 100 in the parking lot.
-
Seems odd. None of the models show any storms anywhere. I guess the RRFS has storm and nws is hugging it.
-
the 110-115 heat index numbers on back to back days is insane. I don't remember this combo of 100+ and 70-75 dewpoints anytime recently. The July 2024 extreme heat had dews in the 60s.
-
Not gonna make it at my house. Too humid. Pair of 99s.
-
the extreme heat warning was borderline as it was. personally i was fine with the issuance (and wanted it), but it was borderline in general.
-
101.7 for high two days in a row, makes one wonder if it is something to do with mu pws digital thermometer

Ill take the under

98/70 at SHD is pretty brutal for them.
-
July 2-3, 2026 is only the third such case. The others were: July 2-3, 1966 and July 6-7, 2010.
-
103/117 peaks

The mid-state and western areas are getting pounded again today as well. I'm not sure why those areas are able to pop storms but they won't pop here. We have all the fuel but no sparks.

Seems unlikely. High is still 98.

ORD and MDW both topped out at 95° yesterday.

Trained last evening/night at home. Ended up with over 3" of rainfall.
