  1. Past hour
  2. I look to the experts who look at the models. "For approximately the northeastern quarter of the Lower 48 states, below normal temperatures are favored, with odds of 60-70% indicated over much of New England and northern New York. This is associated with a predicted deepening trough"
  3. Limited OT should be brought back, with immediate bans(not from the weather threads) for anyone engaging in insults/personal attacks/doxing. Shouldn't be difficult for mods. Just use common sense. It's pretty obvious when you see it. Grown adults should be able to engage in civil discourse, and if someone triggers them that much, take a deep breath, and don't engage. Simply ignore. Just an opinion.
  4. What I love about this place is despite all of the craziness (and good lord there’s a lot of that lol) we are in large part a community that organically comes together to share our common love of wx. All the blizzards, jaw dropping weather events, and even our love of the perfect sunny day. I'm so sorry for your loss, but as you can see here, he left quite a legacy. May he rest in peace with all the interesting wx he could ever want.
  5. I’m convinced we don’t look at model data anymore as a forum. All we do is aggregate stuff other people look at or find. Or maybe that’s just how everything is now.
  6. I went to Oneonta 2 days after that and went through the Catskills to get there and there was still a solid 2 to 3 feet of snow on the ground near Andes.
  7. 90/82/111 in the paign. Brutal fellas
  8. I’ll bet they ignore this post and find a tweet with a blue map.
  9. absolutely awful news - I loved interacting with him here. Such a wise, friendly soul. I am so sorry for your loss!
  10. With the House in recess for the next 6 weeks, maybe not so much hot air in DC for a while. OK, OK, I know - no politics.
  11. Low of 66.6 at 6:30am, went into work with the windows down in the car. Gonna need to be in the "airlock" mode for the next week though. Edit: first 60's since 7/5 when it was 67.
  12. Why do you post literally the biggest twidiot? Perhaps he’s right but let’s face it, the man is appropriately named.
  13. John, I am so very saddened to hear of your father’s passing. You and your family are in my prayers.
  14. I am so sorry for your loss. A brilliant mind and I always enjoyed his voice of reason in the politics sections.
  15. Just some light rain, mainly this morning, so far today. Only about 1/10” today so far. Showers were moving in a somewhat unusual WSW direction from offshore.
  16. Today
  17. Too early to ask about Sunday? Have tickets to a concert at the York State Fair Sunday night.
  18. not to often you get 3 beautiful comfortable days in a row in mid to late july in nyc..a break that was much needed..
  19. He spoke highly of you every time he mentioned you. He seemed very proud of you!
  20. It's looking like 1.5-2" of rain so far today. We'll see how the rest of the day fairs. Solid top 10 wet July for sure with rain totals in that range today. Maybe even top 5 at the end of the month.
  21. 14 years later (wow !) and its still funny every damn time.....
