  1. Past hour
  2. December of ‘20 was a great snowstorm. So was Feb 1st of ‘21…both double digits(a foot plus) and great winter storms. I believe those were both after Isaias.
  3. Really impressive. Orlando near freezing this early in the season is amazing
  4. Congrats VA Beach, Atlanta, Charlotte, Outer Banks on their first flakes. Hopefully we get a bigger storm than New Orleans this winter lol. 29 here in the lowlands this morning. Beautiful stretch of weather on tap. I love outdoor fun this time of year.
  5. Great start to the season! My snow stick on my deck was at 7" total when I left for work this morning.
  6. Mine did indeed wear a hoodie, and pajama pants. Sigh
  7. The last really exciting wx event around here was Isaias which was many many years ago . Since then it’s been gouge your eyes out with a grapefruit spoon boredom
  8. Some low temperatures from this morning:
  9. Nice fellas! No update from my tenants yet.
  10. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being winter in SNE, how safe do you feel?
  11. Good morning all, from sunny, windy, and "frigid" Florida! My stay (Jensen Beach, East Central, Huthchinson Island South) down here is slowly coming to a close. I've been here for one month and will be here until a week from Friday. The vast majority of the days have been at least partly sunny with afternoon temps in the low to mid 80's and dew points in the low to mid 70's...that is, until today. My temperature has dropped to a low of 47.1 degrees. Currently it's up to 47.8 degrees with winds 10-15mph gusting to 25. This combination is creating a wind chill of about 40 degrees F! Talk about a temperature shock! Sunday afternoon it was 83 degrees with a dew point of 75. That combination was producing a heat index of 88 degrees. So, between 88 on Sunday and 40 this morning (H I / W C) that difference is nearly 50 degrees. @Itstrainingtime, you would be so proud of me. Our heat is not working, and I woke up to an indoor temperature of 63 degrees!! Normally, it would be 72 degrees at home. Fortunately, I brought sweats with me for the just-in-case scenario playing out this morning. The inside should slowly warm up by this afternoon to I hope, at least 70...haha! That's it for now. I'll be posting again from home after the 24th. Bye for now.
  12. Late Mar/early Apr was snowy here. But yeah. Kinda meh otherwise. Nothing says excitement like a drought.
  13. Completely agree. The only thing I had that was exciting was the 6.5” of rain in like 3 hours on July 10. From an anomaly standpoint that was impressive. But yeah, doesn’t move the weenie like other events.
  14. Veteran's Day Lake Effect Storm of 1996 was a crazy one, although that lasted multiple days. Nearly SIX FEET of snow in Chardon, Ohio! Much more impressive than the current event. A Record Ohio Snowfall during 9–14 November 1996 in: Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society Volume 80 Issue 6 (1999)
  15. You mean spending an inordinate amount of time of an internet forum investing emotionlly into something of which you have no control, while commismerating with other similarly ill-minded individuals isn't on the list? $hit, I'm in the wrong field.
  16. Yeah, State College was a great spot from the 60s into the early 00s with all those deep Miller As tracking just west or east of the Delaware Valley. Now the lows track up through the Great Lakes last 7 seasons or redevelop and hug the I-78 to I-84 corridor and dry slot Central PA like you mentioned. It’s been 20 years for them with declining snowfall. They missed out during the epic 2010 to 2018 benchmark era with the storm tracks too far east for them. Now the storm tracks are too far west for them. So an extended period with well below average snows.
  17. Decent snow cover for any time of the winter season, but for early mid-November is pretty cool.
  18. I was never invested because I was balls-deep in the outlook until yesterday. So, yea...better now for that reason, and climo wise.
  19. Closing in on 5". Much more on elevated surfaces... although the roads were pretty bad this morning.
  20. Hurts a lot less in November but its funny seeing snow in Charlotte and not here. Just give me a great December-January and I'll be happy.
  21. The sky had the snow squally look this morning when that little burst occured over Queens, it's hard to describe but you know it when you see it
  22. 2025 may be the most boring calendar year of our lives....Maybe 1988 or 1990? 1988 had the huge heat in the summer at least...1990 had a nice ice storm in March. This year has had absolute-dick. I think it's the most boring calendar years of our lives.
