  1. Past hour
  2. Them and in and around Charlotte got hammered. A truly historical storm.
  3. so which model or models handled this storm correct?
  4. What a truly historic storm this was! From the mountains to the coast all saw snow! And a lot saw there biggest snow in some 20 years or more! Congratulations to everyone! We needed something like this.
  5. B/B+ so far, nice seasonal total, but too much cad and no big dog
  6. Jan 04 had yore airmasses. -35C 850s dropping straight south over us.
  7. Folks at the coast are going to talk about this storm for generations
  8. Ended up with 5" here in Franklinton. All fell in a 5 hour period last night. Wild system. Up there with March 1980 for sure. That was probably the best analog 500mb wise, along with Christmas 2010. I feel like my map did very well outside of Fayetteville.
  9. I dont think alot of people forecasted a very cold winter in the east. I think the big disruption to the PV in late November changed the whole winter pattern .
  10. I think you were up in BTV back in the early 2000's? I spent a few years up there when my wife was finishing up school at UVM. I remember this January cold shot of yore..
  11. Congrats to all. Enjoy the beautiful snow...What a storm for you guys
  12. It certainly doesn’t look terrible. We’ll warm eventually but still have cold in place when it counts. Timing, luck yadayada. I’ll be happy with some mid week flakes to top off the glacier.
  13. At 7:30 AM EST, Duck [Dare Co, NC] Trained Spotter reports Snow of 7.00 Inch
  14. Yeah, the last time we had record warmth in the West, at least the East had some historical cold. As cold as this winter has been in the East, it doesn't hold a candle to 13-14 and 14-15.
  15. Yeah, speaking of High Knob, VA and Black Mt, KY from my obs post...... 6z RGEM
  16. 1. I estimate that the January 2026 PNA will calculate to +0.5. 2. Jan NAO calculated to be negative. This combined with the Dec -NAO and the progged first half of Feb’s -NAO means the first sub -0.25 DJF NAO is just about assured for a winter without it being weak sunspotwise since 1978-9!
  17. We got lucky with the storm last weekend. Other than that, second winter in a row with alot of cold air around .
  18. Friend in Morehead city just texted me he had to dig his AC unit out and it’s still ripping…
  19. Around 2’ in Cape Carteret and Newport area. .
