where is that storm and where is that tall white building ?
-
Yep but it was a pretty good downpour. I got 0.28" here between both downpours. Enough to give things a much-needed watering, but hopefully we'll see another downpour later. And hopefully the models are right about the steady rain tomorrow.
-
Steady light rain here since about 1pm. Just what the gardens needed!

Warned storm approaching Luray looks semi-interesting on velocity.

and if you look at the satellite looks like more hazy sunshine moving in behind which will destabalize the atmosphere and create more storms

That is a pretty amazing disparity. I hope an angry God isn’t the cause. Ha

When I flashed a Storm Alert to my 1000 patron Newsletter at 2:23, I increased my POP for tomorrow from 25% to 60%. Lo and behold, when Sterling revised with the afternoon package at 3:00, they increased their POP from 20 - 60% for tomorrow. My call had nothing to do with skill or expertise. But, 5 models cannot be denied! Hopefully, El Nino is beginning to knock.

A quick 0.25" here from the showers. 1.17" for the month, pretty dry. Maybe we can score another 0.25" this afternoon

Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn being evacuated due to the incoming (severe warned) storm

Came through here. Heavy rain and a couple gusts of wind, but nothing to write home about. Looks like it strengthened as it came through, so areas to my east might get walloped.

Very brief. Poured for only a few minutes and I had some 40mph wind gusts. I was just barely on the southern edge of it. A quick tenth of an inch. This other downpour approaching from the southwest will be here shortly and should deliver more significant rain. Just heard a rumble of thunder from it.
-
.43 on the day after that last downpour. Better than nothing with some additional showers to the southwest.
