  3. Nino 4 is on fire again this year compared to 1997. I don’t know how anyone can say this is the most east based Nino since 1997 when Nino 4 is literally above +1 ONI. Nino 1+2 is warmer right now but it was in 2023 too.

  5. Oh yeah, I almost forgot Providence's earliest 100-degree day was set last year (June 24). 98 was the previous record prior to 6/30 (set in the April 1976 heat wave).

  12. 95 here. Got some dirt to plant my pepper seedlings but will wait till later this afternoon. The sun on the deck is blistering. Will water every thing also. Would like some rain tomorrow but will not plan on it.

  14. Here in the NW Philly burbs of Chester County in East Nantmeal (elev. 700 feet ASL) we have hit a high so far today of 88.0 degrees. We have still not hit 90 degrees here this year. I have been at this location for this my 23rd summer. Over those years I have only recorded a 90 degree temperature 76 times or around 3.5 times a typical summer season. To put that in persective the Philadelphia International Airport has in just the last 3 summers recorded a 90 plus reading a whopping 92 times! During the last 22 years PHL is averaging a 90+ reading 32 times a season.

  20. Meanwhile 76 at JFK. Not sure why there is a heat advisory for southern queens. This is the exact scenario for which queens an Nassau were broken up into southern and northern. Should be a heat advisory for northern Nassau. .
  21. Keep an eye on the TUTT low generally heading W from the NE of the Bahamas. That feature could assist with some much needed rainfall across portions of the SE.
