  9. A PDS is currently out for the ongoing flooding emergency:
  10. I post everything. And no one else has a problem with that except you. Get a life. You are a JACKASS .
  11. Radar coverage for the eastern half of the island is down at present. Unfortunately, a strong backside circulation feeder band with enhanced southerly flow is aligned and curving upslope right over the Big Island. Radar would most likely show an ongoing firehouse if it were still operational. You will notice the lightning showing where the deepest cells are likely training under the deepest convection.

  13. I am not confident we will see substantial ACE accrued in the Atlantic Basin this year. We may get a TC that finds its way into the right synoptic pattern at the right time to become a hurricane, regardless of land threat, but I do not forsee any long tracking systems remaining powerful for a duration that would stack ACE points. There will just be too much airmass expanding away from the Pacific from the mid-to-upper levels shearing off whatever might develop in the Atlantic MDR.

  15. Crazy total rain accumulations have occurred over the eastward facing volcanic slopes of Kilauea and Mauna Loa massifs. Not unexpected, but hopefully more populated residential areas have avoided high water this morning.

  17. Sorry to grave dig but just saw this. We only received a few sleet pellets from this event, but in June of last year (June 22, 2025) we received about half an inch of snow that the local recording station appears to measured as a Trace. Typically we get snowflakes most Junes and Septembers, although it often doesn't stick.

  19. Seems that the MCS in Ohio is doing rather well with the 0z NAM initializing it correctly. Should roll through around mid-morning and bring some nice rainfall/storms with it. The soundings for the afternoon are impressive kinematically but lack instability despite our 70 degree dewpoints. I think it'll be a day where if a cell manages to pop ahead of the evening/nighttime line of storms it could produce a TOR. Only question is if/how many will happen.

  21. MJO has certainly been hugging the 6-7-8-1 this summer. If that carries into the winter it'd be a nice change to continuous 4-5-6.
  22. It depends on where youre comparing If you use EWR you can agree 2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2025 all had more >35 90 degree days. 100 degree days ear Rank Days >= 100 °F 1993 1 9 1949 2 8 2025 3 7 2022 4 6 1953 4 6 1988 6 5 1966 6 5 2011 8 4 2010 8 4 1955 8 4 1944 8 4 2012 12 3 2006 12 3 2005 12 3 2001 12 3 1999 12 3 95> Degree days: Year Rank Days >= 95 °F 1993 1 25 2010 2 21 2022 3 20 1988 3 20 1944 3 20 2021 6 18 2012 7 17 2011 7 17 2002 7 17 1955 7 17 1949 11 16 2025 12 14 2005 12 14 1953 12 14 2016 15 13 1999 15 13 1991 15 13 1987 15 13 90 Degree Days Year Rank Days >= 90 °F 2010 1 54 2022 2 49 1993 2 49 1988 4 43 2021 5 41 2002 5 41 1991 5 41 2016 8 40 1983 8 40 1959 8 40 2025 11 39 1994 11 39 1944 11 39 2005 14 37 1987 14 37 2018 16 36 1949 16 36 2015 18 35
  23. 1988 was a hot summer, but came to an end in mid-August. The last 90-degree day at PHL was on 8/17. That one turned cold so fast, and produced one of the coldest Octobers of all time, even colder than 1976.
  24. With PHL's 90 today its their 38th of the season and move the to their most ever 12 more than EWR (26) so far.
