Pittsburgh/Western PA WINTER ‘25/‘26
colonel717 replied to Burghblizz's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
Ohio had quite the line of squalls this morning. Many had whiteouts. The sky is very dark, just looks like it wants to snow. But not sure how much will stick if we do get squalls with temps above freezing. -

hope so, i do like the H5 look I'm just weary of the kicker on its heels, it'll have to be some good growth to get 3-6 here -
Incredibly. If I remember correctly, it was barely forecasted to be advisory level and I ended up with about 4.5” inches of heavy wet snow. The models right up until go time just couldn’t grasp the upslope flow into the foothills. I believe that storm happened the Saturday night before the Super Bowl.

Congrats on the jackpot Mappy! Got about 0.7 here

I'm way behind but I reasoned that out yesterday... The diffluent "fan" of the isohypses appears to be sensitive in this case. The more expanded that is toward the NW, the model's been 'filling' more QPF -
my bad. I'm talking for the 22/23

This storm is confusing but good trends today most models now showing 3-4 inches for most of the region. -
If anything, the frontal stuff is drier than 6z

Currently getting SN but it's having a hard time sticking here in NW Philly. It refreshed the dusting from earlier that was almost gone so there's that. Might be approaching about 1/4" so far so will see if it chills the ground enough as the heavier band comes in. Temp is 34 with dp 30. -
Winding down, measured 3”

Is this for tomorrow? Where are we talking about that? Can we get some threads lol. Gfs looks like tomorrow is congrats NYC.

I'm kind of rooting for the vort to not curl that much and kick out...I feel like if it beefs up, my area is going to end up a bone zone of subsidence...could see the 006z GFS do that, and it made total sense. -
I’m intrigued for tomorrow. Come on SR models. Do your thing

24hrs ago it was a whiff basically so not gonna complain about getting a few inches. Seems to develop late (on the gfs anyway) congrats GOM -

I'd take that but have a feeling wor folks are seeing showers instead of accumulated snow with this one -

Temps in Philly are a little too warm for much stickage. Looks like all frozen precip but it’s melting faster than it can accumulate for the most part. Hope we can get a couple inches tomorrow
