People are going to be pissed next weekend when we get throttled back into winter after some near 80° days this week.

I’m happy to see my pile gone this morning and even more happy to see the salt finally get washed off the road.

Central PA Winter 25/26 Discussion and Obs

Yep. Should still be fun to see the battle this evening as wet flakes try to work their way into the rain. Just as warm air aloft always seems to arrive ahead of schedule, I've often found that the rain to snow backend transition tends to happen quicker than shown as well. If you squint at the 12z suite you can see some ever so slight improvements in this regard. I just want to see some white in the sky at night as I sip an old fashioned. At this point that will be a win in my book ha. -
Not me man I want a 2 foot blizzard!!!

Strongly agree with Ben Knoll giving March 2018 and 2023 shoutouts here, we are primed for more PV antics and some stormy times. https://x.com/i/status/2023034565619585286 -
The I-88 corridor would be my perfect area as well. They get coastal storms as snow, some lake effect but not feet at a time and overall the best of winter. But other than snow very little to do or going on there.

As it is now 15 February, we have entered into blizzard or bust territory. This is certainly for me personally and I understand those who want winter / snow / cold to last forever, but once we get here, either bring me a foot plus or let's make the slow and steady transition to spring.

This system is causing some serious sinus pain. My whole left jaw is painful to the touch. Gums and teeth have that copper taste due to swelling. Left eustachian tube is plugged. And pressure in my left cheek and temple. Tea did not help so broke down and took Ibuprofen. Should hopefully clear out when the rain pushes through.

So far, the NAM, NAM3km, RRFSA, ICON, HRW-FV3, RGEM and HRRR are all a bit snowier than 6Z, solidifying the likely 1-2" (with 3" in some areas where the best banding sets up) from Philly-Toms River up to a bit N of 80, IMO. Hopefully, we see the same for the Euro/UK/CMC and the AI models.
