the warm pattern is coming As expected, the cold pattern that was in place this month is unlikely to finish with any significant I-95 snowstorms (there will be a light/moderate event this weekend). The H5 pattern on the ensemble mean left little room for little amplification, and the EPS snow mean was not supportive. It’s always important to lean into the pattern before hyping big snowstorms with every cold pattern.

Definitely melted -
“Lies, damned lies and statistics”… be careful with stats and stick to real time observations.

The temp has been dropped all day. We are at 15°/10.1° and its windy.

RGEM looks great and its 100 times better than the NAM -
It also showed .5” zr for i95 that event on the 2nd lol.

August ridge rider pattern.

Kinda glad this one will be south of here. I’m already sick of clearing snow.

12/14: Sunday funday? Will the south win again?

The good news is... the rgem has honestly been crap for the last few years. It had a small heyday where it got a few right several years ago, but it has some NOTABLE big misses... like that 40" Baltimore was going to get 2.5 days out a few years ago. We don't remember how that went because it "didn't went anywhere." -

meanwhile, RGEM is coming in even more amped lmao -
No melt. Just meh.
-
Being on the nrn edge potentially introduces fronto fun so I’m not ruling it out, but man I can’t help thinking we may see some ticks southeast. I don’t see how it can improve from some mid those 12z solutions.

Quit crying. We could live in Oregon or the mountain West. A guy who walks my property has a place in Big sky. He's usually long gone by now. Saw him on my game camera today.
-
From my limited upper-air knowledge I don’t think it’s gonna be better. edit: yeah it’s fugly
-
That sexy purple blob is right over my house. LFG. Oh crap it's the NAM.
-
at this point I'd settle for whitening up the ground

He needs to move to the UP. Chicago is so much better in terms of summer storms, but it isn’t really a place where snowpack sticks around easily.

Can you include context moving forward? Sometimes I don’t need to add this board into my daily doomscrolling. . -
Love a melt before Christmas.

Hopefully the south coast can score, but this feels like it’s going to end up flurries here. -

I don’t blame you man. It gets tiring here people say “it’s early” pattern looks good, etc. Ifs been frigid for two weeks and we have 0 to show for it, and Christmas looks like crap. I don’t care how early it is, we squandered the cold, and the pattern is just a variation of what we’ve been seeing. truth hurts sometimes
