It’s been 13yrs for this area’s last legit KU. We’ve had several close calls and several busts since then but it is time…we are owed one. -

2025-2026 ENSO

The timing of the development of a PNA+ remains perhaps where the greatest uncertainty concerning the teleconnections lies. The EPS still developes a PNA+. A prolonged delay would risk breaking the colder pattern, especially if the WPO and EPO both go positive. If the AO goes positive along with the WPO and EPO while the PNA stays negative, that's a classic very warm pattern. For now, that doesn't seem to be a highly likely outcome, at least for the first half of January. -

Like saying 15 inches isn't memorable. Spoiled generation -
Gfs has a couple clippers around that time

Great to see Geauga was upgraded to a warning for 6-8". Winds are strong out there... already a lot of blowing snow.
-
Yeah, same here. Mentioned it couple pages back and Carver's and John told how to get around the problem.

Nothing more than mood flakes most likely. Models have the tendency to overdo depictions of snow showers (which can perform very well for Upstate PA, NY and New England but completely dry out by the time they reach here. Either way, temps in the 20s all throughout so anything that does fall will stick but unlikely anything falls at all

1.0" of snow IMBY with winds up to 40 mph last night. They're kicking back up this morning to 35 mph. Around my area just 1-2" of snow. Nice hit from S MN into the UP MI.

Yea, it has been a really strange last 8 months or so. It was really wet here in the Middle TN area in the Spring up until about June, then it literally stopped. It did the same thing it is doing now, about every ten days we would get a strong line of storms and it rains some but then nothing for another two weeks. -

I made a throw away account on imgur and will either screen shot static images or save to my desktop gifs generated by a site like tropical tidbits. You just have to drag and drop the saved gif (.gif) or image (I think it has to be a .png or .jpg) to the box on imgur. Then you click "copy image address": Then you just paste that link directly into the text box here and hit the "enter" or "return." It should automatically populate the image or gif at that point. -
Toledo had a high 61 (low 33 yesterday morning) with various levels of rain, and heavy fog. No lightning/thunder later in the evening. Then with the temperature dropping, Toledo has maxed out at 50 knot (58mph) peak winds. Wind chill was briefly 0 when the temp was 18 and the wind was 30mph. 0.52", and also measured values up to 0.60" and 0.70" on CoCoRAHS. A few days back, the WPC/NWS estimation was 1.6" but a lot of that shifted to Detroit. (Oakland County got that much)

That sums it up.

Coming down pretty good in Royal Oak, ground has whitened up in the last 20 minutes.

For the rain total folks, I'm at 0.07" on the day in West Chester, PA. Line looks like it's about done moving through, so that's probably about where I'll finish. I'll have an update if I record more -

I could see accumulating snow possible for far southeastern Mass Wednesday night into Thursday with that system. That's a heck of an amplifying shortwave trough moving across the region. In fact, I would not be surprised if that ended up resulting in SLP a bit farther south and west than what the GFS has. Wouldn't take a heck of a lot to get it to blossom a bit earlier -

Well, we managed to creep up to 36 degrees, but I'm not sure if we'll crack 40 or not. Either way, I'm not looking forward to the wind this afternoon. Last wind event had me all screwed up with trees and wires down, and a tight detour, before I was told to use the turnpike. -
Still FROPA. Extremely minimal QPF
