I dont know that I recall a recent time when I have had such green grass going into August; such a dramatic shift from just two months ago for my area. -

Same here in Sumner county seems like it reliably falls apart before reaching us. Didn't get a drop yesterday but goodlettsville got hammered. -
Spring/Summer 2026 Pattern Discussion Thread
Weatheriscool replied to Carvers Gap's topic in Tennessee Valley
The last 18 months give or take in my area have been strangely dry. It was dry middle to end of Summer last year, Fall was dry - but usually is - and Winter was not really that wet. Now, in Spring, at least so far, it is dry and I dont see anything in the next ten days or so to change that. Those that follow long range stuff, are we headed into another dry Summer? Coming off a dry Summer/Fall/Winter that will not be good. I am accustomed to having the big rains during the Winter/Spring. Just me opining. -

That is fine by me, I need a "break" Winter! -
So nothing of importance to discuss locally? Asking for a friend.

That is crazy they cannot possibly let people ski in weather like that I mean you could easily get disoriented and lost in that kind of snow.

Looks like we are getting closer to something next weekend

Thanks, the household has it as well as the adm staff at the college where I work. We will get there, I am thankful we didn't have it when we had no power!
-
Well, the 5 days with no power, followed by the week and changed of the flu, I am ready for Spring.
-
Yes, as is usually the case in Middle TN, we have that sweet spot of generally the last two weeks of December, January, and the first two weeks of February, once we are past that, seems like it is just so ever hard to get any appreciable system other than the occasional one-of system. It is going to have to rain a whole lot here in Sumner county to create flooding issues! We are still dry dry dry!
-
We need rain but we dont need alot at once especially since area creeks/streams are full of debris from ice storm.
-
I think that in the Middle TN area, we see another couple sizeable snowfalls this season

Day four no power. I always do face book live while driving and have been last few days. If anyone wants to see what is going on here, send me a friend request Matthew Rosenboom and a message here so will know who you are
