"We needed this" - Everyone. Good to see a forecasted rain event come to fruition.

If so, they broke the rule this week............ 100% and 90% for 36 hours resulted in .01"

0.32” from the event. Not bad

Last May began very dry then turned quite wet and stayed wet until early August when rain stopped. El Nino suggests a possible reversal this year. I expect exceptional drought labeling later this morning.

Had some thunderstorms overnight on the Cape too.

Agree. Just swallow a shot shotgun.

Alpha gal syndrome escaping the islands and getting statewide is a real concern. Imagine being allergic to meat and dairy you may as well take me out behind the barn and put me out of my misery. .

Isn't there a rule at NWS to be very, very conservative when predicting rain during a drought?
-
Frost/freeze threat here Sat Am
-
Little on the low end here with 0.40” total so far but hopeful for more this morning

Another day, another forecast bust by the pros. Local mesonet says 0.01". I got more than that in my yard but still not enough to even soak through the leaf layer on the ground.

Saturday rain screws me. New pool installation scheduled
-
WTF did you roll in a deer bed?
-
.45 raining still. May flowers.

I forget what it's like to have a rainy day where we get like 1.50". It's been since last fall if I remember correctly. All we get these days is a shower or sprinkles.

A while ago I linked a report that concluded that solar+batteries were becoming cost competitive in sunny locations for 24-hour a day firm power. Here's another report with the same findings. Solar/batteries are competitive now and will only become cheaper in the future. https://www.irena.org/Publications/2026/May/24-7-renewables-The-economics-of-firm-solar-and-wind
