Yeoman
Why would any local news station even hire someone who isn't a met to act like one? Broadcasters are more about entertainment and personality than education.

baroclinic_instability
Broadcasters are more about entertainment and personality than education. Unfortunately he is right. Nobody cares about paying someone more for an education. The public doesn't care or notice the difference anyways--at least the general public. All about ratings--and typically personality is more important to joe blow.

WxUSAF
21z SREF plume info: Baltimore: 4 members stay rain the whole time. Mean rain .52", mean snow .29" (slightly less than all the others today, but not by a lot). Max snow, .78", Changeover definitely looks a bit earlier than 15z and much earlier than 9z SREFs. 19-20z on Wednesday or so on average. DC and Sterling not available yet. WxUSAF
Sort of weird. It looked great on the maps. Are the SREFs really reliable for this sort of detail and scenario? Among the 4 SREF runs today there were two clear trends: colder and less precip. The 21z has the least precip and also the coldest temps from what I can tell.
