Decent storms overhead here.

I keep forgetting average highs are in the low-mid 60s now and my perception of what a “normal” fall is supposed to feel like is becoming skewed.

More seasonable weather for the rest of the week, but the extended sure looks warm after the Fri/Sat cooldown.

Loving today’s chill in the air after the hot ass summer! No complaints from me

Local Outdoor Farmer’s market season coming to an end soon but these last few weeks of the month are my favorite times to visit.

Nothing beats a sizzling hot crepe or hot food from the farmer’s market on a cool, windy fall day!

I will be covering as many plants tonight as possible as we head down to near 32º.  I still have a couple hummingbirds and a garden full of salvias at peak bloom.  We get another ten days of mild weather after tonight, so it's worth it to do the often-frustrating work of covering everything with sheets during the chilly, breezy conditions this evening.

After a rainy/drizzly day yesterday, the clouds cleared off at nighttime, and Toledo dropped to 36. The high temperture 54 today was a real shocker. Obviously, it's not that uncommon for a temperature of 54 to be in early October, but we avoided the cold temperatures so far, with the warm weather pattern. My general idea is that the really good colors of fall start to occur after a few days/nights when the temperature is cold, but not (much) below freezing. Colors of the trees can get really uncolorful with a hard freeze. I saw that in Colorado twice in 16 years.

High of 58 today . Warmer than I thought it would be. Low was only 40 this am. Coldest push of air to our east, High of 41 at Grayson Highlands Virginia today and they are already at 32 this evening.
