Basically how many of the ensemble members are in the 90th percentile of MClimate... and then how far are those beyond the 99th percentile. The shaded area is the confidence in an extreme event and then the black lines are basically how extreme the extreme is. Thanks…but still can’t understand what that means? Lol. PuraVida
If the Euro is right with the evolution of the LLJ we should see a notable uptick in winds across LI/CT between now and 8p. Worth watching that. I’m in western Suffolk and heard my first low roar right after you called this .

After some gusty breezes mid day and one light rain band the wind is basically calm. Why? My Davis anemometer is at 10 meters without any trees nearby. Here is the Davis graph. We’re not really in line for wind up here. It was breezy this morning, but once the showers moved in the temp wetbulbed down, we got inverted, and lost the little mixing we had.

ChangeofSeasonsWX
Is there a reason why these wind storms always seem to peak at night? I guess it's just random but I can only remember one peaking during the day and that was 03/02/2018. That event is still king for my area in terms of high wind events. It beats October 2017 and 2021 for sure.

Yeah there's like 11,000 customers without power in Massachusetts. Not a shockingly high number. In February we had 300,000 in March 65,000. With full leaf out it's unimpressive. 1
