dendrite
Well is getting slow to fill here again. Soil moisture sensor is 37cb which is getting a little dry for the subsurface…even after 1/3” of rain. Usually that value is dropping (getting more moist) as the soil temp steps down in the fall. As usual we get the crumbs to SNE’s feast.

This was a very good drink…moderate rain for hrs all day…and then heavy rain all evening long…no breaks either just constant and continuous rain. It would have gone along way to help your well situation. Heh, you guys will get a two footer/30”er, and we’ll get 1-3” come January…

weatherwiz
Would not be surprised to see multiple inches of accumulating snow for ski areas on Saturday and maybe even grassy accumulation accumulations lower elevations of NNE. Wonder if the Tug hill could pull off several-plus inches
tamarack
0.06" overnight. October has had measurable rain on 5 of the 12 days, for a grand total of 0.14". GYX thinking about an inch by Wednesday noon. Hope that verifies.

Wonder if the Tug hill could pull off several-plus inches Was saying that in the NNE thread earlier haha. I've been skeptical, but there's a solid cross guidance signal for flakes up here this weekend. GFS was pretty aggressive along with its AI counterpart. Euro not as much. I like seeing the lingering moisture after the front. We can produce nicely on that. Not sure about the Tug however, as this looks like more NW flow than westerly off Ontario, if you're talking LES potential.

That is a very robust shortwave digging into the region with some healthy moisture in place and rather steep lapse rates. Wasn't looking at LES in this case...just more elevated/terrain enhancement. 1

Euro has snow through much of NNE Saturday with daytime highs in the 30s up my way. 1

Good AFD from BTV… A cold front will sweep through the area Friday night sharply lowering temperatures 10 to 15 degrees from Friday evening to Saturday morning. Temperatures will likely dip below freezing for most if not all locations across the area with only those near Lake Champlain and immediately near the St. Lawrence River staying above freezing. As temperatures fall, snow levels during the day Saturday will also lower to 500-1000ft agl, with a transition to snow above 1500ft agl, and a rain, wet snow mix, in elevations between 1000- 1500ft agl. A few mixed in flurries cannot be ruled our even in the Champlain Valley, though temperatures will be marginal in the mid to upper 30s. Some snowliage appears likely with ensembles denoting nearly 100% chances for purely snowfall in the Adirondacks and Northeast Kingdom. Rain and snow showers will taper off Saturday evening as the system pulls away to the northeast. 850 mb temperatures Saturday night will be remarkably cold for this time of year in the -9 to -11C range Saturday night supporting temperatures in the 20s for most of the area, including the entire Champlain Valley. Pockets of teens will be possible in the coldest hollows of the Adirondacks and Northeast Kingdom as surface temperatures anomalies will be 10 degrees below normal. Temperatures will slowly moderate back towards seasonable normals to start next week.
