Skies continue to clear from west to east following this morning’s rain and storms. Much of the region generally picked up between half an inch and an inch of rain.

As we go through the afternoon temps will rise into the lower 90s w/ dewpoints getting into the mid/upper 70s leading to 3000-4000 J/kg MLCAPE beneath the 6.5-7 C/km MLLRs. As the unseasonably strong shortwave approaches from the west it will most likely bring with it a complex of thunderstorms congealing into a severe MCS. At the same time, a couple of supercells may develop over the region ahead of the main cluster and with near 60kts of EDWD and effective SRH in excess of 250m2/s2 these have the potential of producing strong to intense tornadoes. SPC has us under a 10% CIG1 tornado risk to account for this. We are also under a 60% CIG1 wind risk resulting in a level 4 out of 5 Moderate risk of severe weather. With the high CAPE, decent DCAPE (1000+ J/kg) and high Pwats around 2 inches, the MCS could bring widespread 65 to 80+ mph wind gusts across the region with even higher gusts in any embedded microbursts resulting in widespread and potentially long-lasting power outages along with major tree damage and some structural damage to boot.

Stay tuned to the evolving weather situation and take all the necessary precautions.

Not sure i love getting anything from the Orioles but maybe this Kremer dude can be salvageable...my guess is no but hey my Twins are at least looking

He’s been a reliable (and cheap) fifth starter for several years. Will occasionally throw a gem, occasionally a major clunker. He’s been pretty rough lately though.

This seems like a load management move for Prielipp, who is now already over his highest number of innings pitched in his career.  You have Ryan, Taj, Ober and then fill in the starts with Prielipp, Matthews and Kremer.  It isn’t a great rotation, but somehow the Twins lead the AL in scoring.

I'm pretty excited for winter. I'm one phone call away from closing a deal on a seasonal cabin rental at Barns Corner, NY. That's ground 0 on the Tug Hill. It's from Dec 1 to February 31. If my location isn't being hit directly I'll still be able to quickly get right where I'll need to be from base camp on the top of the hill. I won't be far from the Adirondacks if I need to get even higher up in elevation. Pretty exciting times.

I'm sensing some difficulties with this deal. Proceed with caution.

March first. My typo lol. It's an Airbnb. I'm just taking it for the entire winter. It's got the best location I've found out there. It's right near the famous snow town of Montague.

We are spending 4 nights in a cabin near Davis, WV in a week. I know some of you have spent some time there - any trails, out of the way place we should know about? I've looked into the immediate area and well known hikes

If you want to be adventurous, try Dolly Sods. Very rugged and very unique for the area and has a Canada vibe-

'Features rare sphagnum bogs, heath barrens, and stunted red spruce trees typical of Canada rather than the mid-Atlantic.'

Rough ride up from Canaan Valley but lots of trails and a great view east from Bear rocks, at about 4000 ft.

Also check out Seneca Rocks. Not a long hike up but steep so a decent workout and a great view.

Baz is such a hard luck pitcher. Their second best starter but gets horrible run support and shoddy defense behind him. The Orioles are what they are. Mediocre at best.

He went up against arguably the best pither in the NL.  The Orioles had their changes twice and just could cash in.  That 15 pitch at bat in the 7th did him in.

If this is the end of the Adley era in Baltimore it's been largely disappointing.

They tanked for a lot of years for 2 seasons of competitive baseball and 0 post season wins. ( games) not series.

Elias absolutely needs to be fired, but I get the feeling he will be back next year.

Watching the little media availability that you do see Rubenstein do, it's starting feel like incompetence at the ownership level.

All three levels of incompetence in the organization with Ownership, baseball ops and coaching.

In 2023 they had the best record in baseball and the #1 ranked farm system to this in 3 years...

Think about that.

Really have no confidence that Elias is going to make a move here that'd positively impact the team but moving Roger's and Adley would bring some value. Moving Jackson seems like overkill and would probably alienate what's left of the fanbase.

If you move both Adley and Holliday you tell the fan base the rebuild was for nothing, since those are both 1.1 picks. Elias and Alby are gone at the end of the season is my guess.

But management did sign Baz, Bradish, and Alonso to long term deals... We have not had that in the past.

Not sure Alby is gonna be fired that quickly. Kinda rare for a rookie manager to get fired after 1 season but ya never know, I guess. Feels like it would take a bad start next year for that to happen a la Cal Sr.

If they bring Elias back, that is definitely ownership incompetence. Now as far as before that...I mean they have spent a lot more than Angelos, and have certainly boosted clubhouse morale with their willingness to commit to players (another facet sorely missing before). Aa far as how the team has been run, though? Elias. Because if you notice, the problem has become less money and more about the system itself, and Elias' roster decisions They let him be the "architect" as Cal Jr. put it--so what we see now is his.

That being said...if they head into this off-season after another losing season and decide to keep Elias? That would be clueless to say the least.

I hope Rubenstein was just trying to do the PR thing when he said "I'm pleased"--at that particular moment Elias was sitting right there, lol But I don't know man...I hope that's all it was!

If Elias goes, my thinking is the new GM brings in his own manager.

Yeah but this situation is unique, though...new GM but the manager just got there the previous year. I'm wondering if ownership would be on board with that... Because if you're trying to win with some of the players here...do you wanna put them through yet another managerial transition just a year later?

Not to mention that would be kinda unfair to Alby too--You gonna do all that introduction this year and not even give him the courtesy of a second year after his rookie season? Ehh that would be kinda crappy from an organizational standpoint, imo I know some fans want it, but I don't know, man...
