LVLion77 Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM In lv near lower macungie , I had less than a.5 of rain. Western lehigh missed everything again. A drought emergency will be declared by weeks end I received less than a 10th of an inch. If you look at the precip accumulation map, there is a narrow strip of very little rain along south mountain from Easton all the way to Fleetwood in Berks County.

Hurricane Agnes Posted yesterday at 06:12 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:12 PM I did ultimately finish up with 2.56" for day 1, mostly due to getting under several cells. Made it up to 86 for a high after a 67 low, before the rain knocked that down. With today's light overrunning precip., I have picked up 0.23" so far for a 2-day total o 2.79" and monthly total of 6.15". Despite that, I heard on the radio yesterday that we are still experiencing drought conditions here in the city (below as of the last update) - Currently light rain and 66 with dp 66.
JTA66 Posted yesterday at 07:08 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:08 PM Little more than 0.25" on the day so far. Doesn't do much for the drought but hopefully it will keep the lawn from getting any browner for a few days. 66F/DP 65F

Wonder how the drought will impact the proposed new AI data centers? These things need a ton of water to cool. Probably raising residential water/electric cost....pissed off people incoming. Data center development in Montgomery County, PA, is sparking major public debate due to massive water and electricity demands, particularly for new AI infrastructure. [1, 2, 3] Major Proposals and Water Demands: Limerick Township: The proposed "Project Laurel" aims to build 2.8 million square feet of data center space near the Limerick nuclear plant. It is projected to consume at least 750,000 gallons of water per day for cooling—surpassing the capacity of an Olympic-sized swimming pool. [1, 2] Upper Merion Township: Eight projects backed by MLP Ventures have been proposed across King of Prussia, spanning 4 million square feet. Residents and local groups are strongly pushing back over fears of water pollution, extreme utility usage, and proximity to residential zones. ChescoWx
Plenty of lows in the 50's across the area this morning with the lowest being the 50.0 at the Warwick DEOS. Today will be our 9th day in the last 10 with slightly below normal temperatures. Great weather through Thursday before rain chances increase again by Thursday night into Saturday morning. We should slowly warm up next week to above normal temperatures as we close out the month of June.
Hurricane Agnes
Got another hundredth of an inch yesterday for a 0.24" final and 2.80" 2-day event total. My high was 71 after a low of 64, and the drier air is trickling in. Currently a sunny 70 with dp 61. 17 hours ago, Birds~69 said: Wonder how the drought will impact the proposed new AI data centers? [1, 2] I've been following that Limerick site one as I figured exactly why the location was picked. I remember my senior high school physics class taking a field trip to Limerick back in 1979 while the plant was still under construction. I think the cooling towers had recently been completed. The PECO tour guide told us that once the plant came online, the average electric bill would drop to $3/month. 1
